Was a great base to explore the island. The hotel staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Great to come back, relax with a drink (full licensed bar), and enjoy a really nice meal. The breakfast, while continental, was substantial and well catered for all needs. Would definitely recommend this wonderful find.

Clean and quiet rooms, sound proofed well. Good complimentary selection of coffee, tea and light snacks. Friendly wonderful staff.
Shower water pressure was wonderful and run very hot-had one of the best showers out of all the places we stayed on this trip. The soups were boutique and had a wonderful smell as well.
Delicious dinner tasting menu (although on the expensive side for the amount and variety of dishes included) on offer from the restaurant, well thought out and inventive. Breakfast was good as well, with a selection of egg dishes, bread, and porridge.

Such a special place, well worth the big trek to get there. If you are staying at the hotel go for the last whiskey tasting as all the day trippers have left.

The staff were exceptional and very friendly. The breakfast was great. We didn't quite understand the pods before we arrived, but decided that they were nice. Very comforatable bed.

Carbost is a lovely little village with a stunning coastline. We wanted to visit Talisker Distillery but unfortunately it was closed due to extreme weather conditions, however the snow made for sensational photographs! The town has a little village shop which was very well stocked with friendly staff. We spoke to some locals, they were all very friendly too. I think we chose a brilliant spot to stay - easy to navigate all over the island from, and a very scenic place to call home for a few days.

Very welcoming people live in the area, we went to the pub on Saturday, met people and went for dinner to their house on Sunday. It’s the things you don’t expect in life that are the greatest experience. Be open for it!

I loved the scenery and the beauty of the coastline.
I loved the scenery and the beauty of the coastline. Walking was hard going as no walking paths. You can however walk anywhere you want you are not prohibited.
Plenty of midges which is a nuisance.
Lots of beaches to visit and beauty spots.
Not good if it's raining as there is nothing to do. Some good pubs to eat in with beautiful views. You need a car on this island too.
Plenty of areas to wild camp.
Fav place was Talisker beach (easy walking) Old man of Storr (med to difficult walking) view s from here were beautiful. Eilean Donan castle for good photo opportunities. It's a beautiful island and worth a visit.

We were planning to stay an extra day but the weather was going to get bad and we were afraid the ferry off the island would be shut down so we left early. There was a delicious little pub down the street-12 minute walk to be exact.
