I can't say enough good things about The Nifty Nook. What a beautiful apartment, everything was spotless, it all looked brand new! The shortbread and wine were lovely welcoming touches!
The place was one of the best places I have ever stayed in and I have been around the block more than a few times.
Both Dawn and Simon were very avaliable to answer any questions I had.
I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending The Nifty Nook to anyone visiting Cambeltown.

Great place to base for golf, walking, fishing or just absolute relaxation. It’s a hidden gem and even the journey here is spectacular with the alps of Arrochar to the crashing waves along the Kintyre peninsula. It’s been my go to place to relax for 40 years with such friendly people and plenty to do if doing is your thing.

I loved the town.
I loved the town. I think it may have some issues but the people were generally very friendly and welcoming. Great food and whisky. Cadenhead’s, the three distilleries, the deli, Number 42, Watt Whisky, chocolate shop. Gin distillery on the way back up the road. Think there was more to explore if I had another few days.

Campbeltown is beautiful when the sun is out.
Campbeltown is beautiful when the sun is out. The trip was quite long, but again it was enjoyable when the weather was good. The way back across the Rest and Be Thankful wasn't so good as the weather turned bad. We were there on a work trip so we didn't visit any tourist spots, so I'm not sure how much there is to do there. But it's great for walks and scenery.

It was just right, not too busy and not too quiet, unfortunately the ferry from Campbeltown to Ardrossan had been withdrawn so we had to endure the long journey back which was not in our weekend plan. So if you are coming make sure the ferry is operating.

The town is on the downside of things but back on the way up. The two distilleries in town were excellent: Springbank and Glen Scotia and we toured both. Actually there is a small third one, Glengyle as well. There used to be over 100 distilleries before WW1. This is an area known also for its outstanding salmon and cheese. It's relatively undiscovered by tourists as well. I would recommend it and hope to be back again. Getting around in town was done with taxis.

We only stayed for one night after a trip to Islay. The room is basic which perfectly suited our needs; The staff at Dellwood have been incredibly welcoming making the overall experience great. Everyone is very happy to chat and the breakfast feels like being hosted in a friends home. They have also been incredibly kind to post back a charger i forgot in the room, free of charge! (pun intended) Would definitely go back on the next trip to Campbeltown
We paid extra for the room on the front which was well worth it! The room was excellent, very spacious, fantastic view of the sea and the building itself is beautiful, it was a perfect location for the reason we where visiting which was for the springbank distillery, the hotel staff/owners where really lovely.
Lovely old hotel in a fantastic location. Large rooms with a big comfy bed and everything you need for an overnight stay. Staff were all great and very helpful.
