Tyacks Hotel, hotel in Camborne

Situated just off the A30 in Camborne, the 3-star Tyacks Hotel is a charming 18th-century coaching inn in the centre of Cornwall’s mining heritage area. It offers home-cooked meals and friendly staff....

Had an unexpected overnight work trip so booked last minute. Arrived about 8pm, easy check in, room was a decent size, as was the bathroom. Bed a bit squeaky but very clean sheets and comfy pillows. Bathroom had bath with step in bath/shower. Perfectly fine. Had a meal in the bar downstairs (lasagne) which was very tasty if a little cheesy! Couple of nice pints served by a very friendly lady. Breakfast the next morning was a little slow to order but was good quality. Overall this is a slightly dated but well run basic b&b. Needs a bit of modernisation but is clean with good staff, good food, and a pint for a very reasonable price. What more do you need!

Meadowview Cottage, St Ives View, hotel in Camborne

Set in Camborne in the Cornwall region, Meadowview Cottage, St Ives View offers accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking.

The St.Ives View room at Meadowview Cottage was a superior, ensuite room. The entire property was exceptional. The owner was friendly and explained everything at arrival. The free Wi-Fi was sufficient for our needs. The TV was a good size. The tea and coffee supplied was more than sufficient; it was great to have a proper size kettle. The ensuite shower room was modern and fully tiled and the towels were soft and generously sized. The complimentary continental breakfast was excellent. We'd never booked a homestay before but will definitely consider it as an option when we're next travelling.

The Checkin process was clear - the accommodation was very clean and comfortable with good amenities. Self-serve breakfast was very good. The hosts were very friendly. Camborne is a good base for day trips to St.Ives, Lands End, Penzance, etc. There is a very good pub/restaurant nearby called The Shire - ideally you need your own vehicle to stay here - there is private off street parking. We stayed at Camborne as it was close to relatives. The train station was a short walk as well so we used that to visit St Ives, Penzance, Mousehole and Lands end via train and bus. The hotel was great although it didn’t have a lift but a very helpful man took our luggage up for us.

Its certainly not a holiday venue. Not a lot to see.

Its certainly not a holiday venue. Not a lot to see. Vacant shops, the usual Wetherspoons and what I can only call some rather salubrious and dubious characters wandering around the town. Seem to be a constant smell of 'weed' especially at the top end of the town. There are some independent shops. Partner approached by a male stranger informing her of a new barbers. Not really welcoming to her. Matter of fact unnerved her. Costa Coffee looked as if it could have done with a good clean. Staff were very nice there. Not a lot more I can write about Camborne. I am sure there are places that would enlighten us but we didnt come across them.

Camborne is ideal as a base from which to explore the west of Cornwall. The day bus ticket at £5 was excellent value. It was easy to get to beaches and to walk in the local area. There was an amazing amount of history at every corner and learning about the tin and copper mining was very interesting.

An elegant, honest town which has a rich history of mining, sadly gone now. A friendly town with a good range of chain shops, local and charity shops. Main line train station and bus interchange to the rest of Cornwall, giving access to small villages and larger towns.

Considering my mother had just passed away a day earlier and I rushed to Camborne not in the best frame of mind the Hotel placed me in the quietest room in the hotel, could not do enough to help me with printing out funeral & life insurance related documents etc. I cannot speak highly enough of the hotel. Highly recommended.

The staff were exceptional in their kindness, support and general helpfulness. I had gone to Cornwall following the death of my son, to clear out his flat in Camborne and the whole hotel team were fantastic.

Although the property is close to the centre of Camborne, the chalet is at the far end of the garden. Local beaches are close at hand and there is easy access to St Ives and other towns.

Quality of room and location, I do not drive so public transport is important, near Train Station( short walk to hotel) and bus stop outside to Truro and St Ives etc.
