This is a great location to explore Loch Lomond and the surrounding areas. Room was neat, clean and tidy and the staff were helpful. Parking is available out the front, but it is limited.

From the minute we arrived the level of service was shocking, admittedly we arrived 2 hrs early but after a 6 hr drive, I thought it would be worth asking if room was ready, nobody on reception, just a mobile number to call & phone was answered with a “Yeah “ check in is 3pm and if you want to check in now it’s £25 per hr. I thought this was steep after paying £900 for 3 nights. The lodge was ok but worth nowhere near that amount. We went and sat in the pub over the road and waited until 3pm, on check in they asked me to pay £200 security which is for the hot tub. On the 1st night, my 8 yr old daughter was sick and we had to remove her bed sheets, I went to reception the following day a couple of times to report this but there was nobody there, I called the mobile number but no answer & my daughter had to spend 2 x nights without sheets . After we checked out, just a key drop as again there was nobody on reception, I took a call a few hrs later telling me that as I had failed to inform them about my daughter being sick on the sheets, I wouldn’t get my £200 deposit back, I sent a screen shot of times I tried to call & explained that I visited reception to report. I even offered to meet them in the middle but the woman was aggressive & just kept blaming her boss, she wouldn’t send me her bosses details and has kept the money.
Absolutely shocking service & I doubt the boss had anything to do with it.
I have never, ever left a review as I think everyone deserves an off day every now and then, but due to such poor service & poor attitude I need to warn others.
Money not so much an issue, just the manner in which it was taken.

Balmaha is a spectacular location on the banks of Loch Lomond. Beautiful walks along the shoreline or up through the woodlands and climbing Conic hill.
Visitor centre is an interesting visit. Demonstrates the history, geology and wildlife of the area. Staff are always helpful and welcoming.

The Oak Tree Inn had everything you would need for a base...
The Oak Tree Inn had everything you would need for a base for exploring. There was no where near by, within walking distance to eat or drink. The Oak Tree has everything you would need, coffee shop with home roasted coffee, great selection of snacks and cakes with plenty of vegan options. They have a shop with gifts, drinks, sandwiches, snacks and walking equipment. The pub itself it very quaint with open fire, a well stocked bar and good pub food. The pricing of the food was around £15 for a meal however, the deserts were expensive at £8.95. There is great walks around and you can climb Conig Hill which is directly opposite the accommodation. The water taxis weren’t running due to the weather so we drove around to Luss which was beautiful. It’s a great place to stay altogether.

Balmaha was a perfect location for walking, hiking, driving...
Balmaha was a perfect location for walking, hiking, driving and seeing delightful views of the Lochs and sweeping hills - West Highland Way across the road, as well as the beautiful Conic Hill which provided the most wonderful view of Loch Lomand and surrounds.
The town is very small, but has a few lovely restaurants, an excellent coffee shop, and a little store which had everything you needed for your stay.
Definitely recommend hiring a car as there are some lovely villages and walking trails nearby, as well as stunning driving views alongside the Lochs,

A quieter place which gives the opportunity to relax or walk...
A quieter place which gives the opportunity to relax or walk around the local area. Best to avoid the high tourist season as it can become a bottleneck. Limited local eateries, but our accommodation, Birchwood Guest Lodge offers a fabulous self catering full kitchen and dining area.
We only stayed one night as we were walking the West Highland Way. Guest House is only a 10 minute walk from the picturesque village of Balmaha . Comfortable, clean room and excellent cooking facilities provided in the communal kitchen. Although there were only limited supplies available in the village shop, we were able to cook an evening meal, a break from pub grub !
We were pleasantly satisfied with the dinner one night. The location was perfect to go to the Trossachs national park. Such a lovely spot on the Loch. The small store on the premises had items if you wanted to take away for a lunch on the way along with a small breakfast store. We did not have the hotel breakfast as felt it was too large for us.
loved the location of the property within walking distance of Balmaha, big open green space & being able to see Loch Lomond in the distance from the hot Tub was lovely, Very peaceful, great cafe with amazing food on site. The property had 3 Toilets & showers & 2 baths, which was great with a larger party of people, very comfortable beds.
We travelled during school break and stayed for 2 nights at Balmaha Lodges. The location is superb. The location is great for hikes, bike rides or just for relaxing. The lodge was clean, comfortable, and exactly as shown in the pictures. The jacuzzi was a bonus!
The BnB is really nice! The view when you exist is really beautiful, the beds are very confortable.
We enjoyed our stay in Balmaha a lot!
The place is about 10-15min walk from the bus station.
The hosts is so so nice! And the breakfast to die for!
