We both indulged in a full English breakfast, which came with the room. The dining area was a lovely orangery out back, bathed in light and overlooking fields dotted with sheep—it was like eating in a countryside painting.
My friend, an American, bravely tackled her very first black pudding. Of course, she had no idea what it was, and the waitress only explained it after she'd already eaten it. The timing was impeccable—let’s just say my friend’s face went from "Oh, this is interesting" to "Wait, I ate what?!" faster than you can butter a crumpet.
To her credit, she handled it like a champ, although I suspect her new breakfast mantra is now, “Ask first, chew later.”

The Hill at Burford is a very attractive place, but the shops aren't that good! Lots of beautiful villages around with lovely walks and lots of traditional pubs. Burford Garden Centre is worth a visit, although it's somewhat expensive (but nowhere near as expensive as Daylesford). Jeremy Clarkson's farm shop and pub are both nearby but whilst I am a fan of Jeremy, I don't rate either place very highly - they're basically tourist traps and we didn't like the ambience of either place.

Burford is a bustling town during the day, although traffic very slow due to the bridge at the bottom of the high street . Thought we would eat out 2 night very little available in the town 2 in the evenings, couple of pubs with limited menus (pizza etc). Ended up in the Indian which was good.

This is a splendid old hotel at the top of the hill in one of the prettiest Cotswold Villages
The bar and restaurant were beautifully laid out and decorated - embracing its age but with modern touches
The dinner, which I had in the pretty garden was really lovely and twined with a perfect cold Lager. The garden sits close to a roundabout which was sometimes quite noisy.
My bed mattress was too hard for me and would have benefited from a topper or something. Other amenities in the room were great though; including lovely water tea and so forth. They should review the cleaning fluid choice which has an unpleasant smell - though the room and bathroom were perfectly clean and spruce.
I had a good nights sleep but was glad I’d remembered my earplugs due to the tractor and lorry noise - not unexpected since harvest had started.

We have visited (and stayed) many times as it is not too far from us. The town itself is delightful. A high street on a slight hill, free parking off the main road, over a cute little bridge over a stream.
The buildings and shops are beautiful, some shops for everyday things and the kind you associate with the Cotswolds town. Plentiful places to eat and drink.
On the A40 just before the turning is the Burford Garden Centre which is a lovely place to visit, if a little expensive. Lovely restaurant there too.
Not too far away is the Cotswold Wildlife Park which is great for people with children even quite small as it isn't too vast. Well worth a visit.
As with other iconic towns, it can get crowded in summer months but all are delightful anytime of year, especially on a sunny, if cold, day.

Excellent accommodation, spacious twin bed room with coffee / tea making facilities and excellent en-suite bath / shower room. Beds very comfortable. The food is a highlight, excellent home cooked dishes, good choice and delicious. Our breakfast was really good on both mornings. Lovely cosy pub atmosphere with log burning stove.
Staff very friendly, and efficient and knowledgeable about the local area.
Very good value for money, will definitely be visiting again - Burford town is lovely, great shops & cafes and so beautiful.
We had a lovely long weekend away here. The property was a good size equipped with everything we needed, bed comfortable, and felt very homely. The shower was lovely, as was the spacious bathroom! Within a short drive from lots of lovely local towns including burford, bourton on the water, Bibury, stow on the wold etc. The hosts were very friendly and had lots of nice recommendations of places to go, the maps & information booklet was really helpful too.
Little! It’s possible that I’d mistaken this property for a hotel, while in reality, it was a B&B.
It was near Burford so a plus point as a base.
I felt the staff, the 2 people I saw and most likely management or owners, did try hard but operating in reduced circumstances.
