Alexandra Hotel, hotel in Broadmayne

Located on Weymouth’s Esplanade, the family-run Alexandra Hotel is ideally located; with the town center and Weymouth Harbor and the beach located across the road.

I was so very pleased with my last minute decision to stay here! The sea view deluxe room on the 3rd floor was super comfortable, rustic-chic, awesome sheets, padding, towels, nice shower, and really splendid view. The proprietor is extremely nice and helpful. I like the way you can hang in the lounge, the open breakfast room, or the front lovely patio, and you are welcome to bring outside food as long as you purchase drinks from their well-stocked bar. I was only in Weymouth as a last-minute decision, for 28 hours - but I loved every minute! Take a walk to Cove Gallery, up to the fort to see Isle of Portland, and go for a boat ride with the peeps just over the walk bridge near Bennett’s Fish and Chips. The ones that have 20, 75 and 90. That was a blast. Took a little wade and quick swim by the pier. Water seemed clean and pretty. Although crowded, I felt peaceful here!

The location was amazing! Derrick was a wonderful host. And his granddaughter welcomed us with the most amazing and beautiful cupcakes on arrival. Derrick gave all the best recommendations on what to see, where to eat, and history of the hotel itself.

We arrived to great customer service and a very clean room and bath. I appreciated the self serve coffee in the morning, outlets by the bed and a mirror on the closet door for makeup and hair. The bathroom was well designed with comfortable towels and shampoo and soap. Bed was comfortable, especially with AC available. Location was across the street from the beach.

Wonderful staff, bar and dining room and breakfast very good! Was a bit worried about mold comments in reviews. The door had a bit but very clean otherwise. Stayed in room 9. The bed was comfortable and window did open. Bath towels so very nice!

We did not get a chance to see the village but it was easy access to both Weymouth and Dorchester which are two really lovely places. We stayed in Broadmayne overnight as halfway to our holiday in Cornwall. It turned out to be excellent choice exactly half way.

Louisa, our host was very welcoming, providing us with a lot of anecdotal recommendations about where to go and what to see. Oh, and a very nice breakfast! The B & B at Broadmayne is well sited for site seeing in the local area. Village pub, the Black Dog, has a good restaurant, and the New Inn just outside the village is even better.

We could eat there - the food was very tasty and very well cooked from fresh. The breakfast was cooked to perfection. The bed was large and very comfy indeed. The staff were, without fail, friendly, helpful and cheerful. It was ideally situated for our purpose which was walking / rambling in the Dorset countryside - the area is crisscrossed with footpaths.

Definitely a very friendly B&B/pub. A generous breakfast included. Rooms may be on a dated side, but clean. Shower very spacious and so was the bed. Didn't eat or have a drink at the pub as only stayed one night (bank holiday) while exploring Dorset.

We stayed in a really spacious and comfortable family room. The beds were good, the best we slept in during our England holiday. Great location for exploring Dorset. Really good food in the pub.
