The property is listed in Bridport, but it is in Charmouth, with a less than a 15 minutes walk to the beach. The beach was wide, sandy, and I imagine it would be lovely in summer. I visited in late November, not to sunbathe but to look for fossils. Despite my stay being limited by a storm, I found some and intend to come again for more. Hopefully in a better weather.

Bridport is a quaint market town with a lot of independent shops. There were quite a few charity shops and some of the places were a bit run down. The market on Saturday morning was fun to wander through - it was very extensive, selling all sorts of things from organic produce to second hand bric a brac. We ate at the Station Kitchen at West Bay which was wonderful. The walk to West Bay was nice, but not that easy to find directions.

Lots to do in this traditional Dorset country town.

Lots to do in this traditional Dorset country town. The town and surrounding villages have something for everyone's tastes. Recommend Bridport Arms, West Bay, Anchor, Seatown and Ilchester Arms in Symondsbury for food and drink. Can't go wrong with Palmers Brewery pubs whose standards are very high and beer excellently kept. Take some home from the Brewery Shop, well worth a visit. Beaches are all good but busy. Hive Beach in Burton Bradstock is free parking to National Trust members. Symondsbry Estate a must with good shopping outlets and cafe. Town has good supermarkets and out of town all Farm shops worth visiting. Good walking throughout but for the less energetic, West Bay quay is a short stroll after dinner. For gardeners Abbotsbury a must

This is a lovely little town that we hadn't visited before and it was quite a discovery - many interesting shops, a street market, museum and church all worth visiting, plus a huge number of fascinating old buildings. The coast and lovely countryside are close by too.

These lodges are set in a stunning part of the Jurassic coast which is very peaceful. Its near a beautiful beach and walking distance to a hotel and a pub which serve great food. The hosts are very pleasant and the property was immaculately clean. We had a 2 bed lodge which was great as I stayed with my Mum and it was perfect but might be a little small if there were 4 of you, It had a little garden at the back and its own parking space. We had beautiful weather and would return. Its not too far from Bridport so supermarket is nearby ,

Meals and staff were excellent. The only comment was that the room was rather cramped. Otherwise we would be happy to use the hotel again and for more than one night.
