Best Western Premier Heronston Hotel & Spa, hotel in Bridgend

Situated in the heart of Glamorgan, Best Western Premier Heronston Hotel & Spa has a modern leisure suite, an on-site restaurant, free parking, and free Wi-Fi.

Seemed to be recently refurbished, so everything was new and clean. The staff I met were lovely, friendly and welcoming. I asked for a quieter room and was given a different room with no fuss. I didn't stop for breakfast, so cannot comment on what it was like.

We didn’t really get much time to explore, Bridgend is like most market towns these days, a little run down, you can see how beautiful it much have been in its day, but there are nice restaurants and shops, what little sight seeing we did was nice and I would like to go back with more time! The great house hotel is about a 5 min drive out of Bridgend, sadly we don’t get time to explore there but it does look like a lovely wee village!

Places around Bridgend are stunning: Ogmore, Southerndown and Porthcawl to name but a few. Shopping at Sarn is excellent. Bridgend Town sadly lacks funding but it’s still an ok town for essentials. Newbridge fields are beautiful - lots of sports are played there at weekends too. Not far from Neath falls, there Big Pit, The Mumbles - all worth while places!

Ewenny guest house is not in the town of Bridgend but in Ewenny, surrounded by countryside and woods, on the road to the coast. There are a couple of pubs about 5 minutes drive away for evening meals. It is a five minute drive to Ogmore , which is on the sea and the coastline there is a heritage coastline, with beautiful walks and cliffs and woods. Bridgend is a small town, it has supermarkets, shops and restaurants, but we did not spend time in the town, only in the countryside around.

A lovely little single room for me as a solo traveller. Friendly staff who took a kind interest in what I was doing in walking on the south Wales section of The Cistercian Way, which passes through Llangynwyd. Tasty and good value evening meals available and delicious breakfast.

The rooms were spacious. The tea/coffee tray had a great selection. Bottled water was a nice touch. The quality of sheets and towels is very good. Great value for money and positioned right in the town centre.
