Known for its sandy beaches and good nightlife, Bournemouth is a popular seaside resort on the Dorset coast between Poole and Christchurch.
The town is centered on the Bourne River, running downhill towards the sea by Bournemouth Pier. This pier looks back towards a promenade lined with beach huts at the foot of grassy cliffs. The promenade continues west to Poole, while a road heads east to neighboring Boscombe, where anglers often fish from its pier. Overlooking it is a clifftop road housing some Bournemouth hotels with sea views.
Booking.com also has hotels near the BIC (Bournemouth International Center) in the West Cliff area. This convention center and music venue is a short walk from the Art Deco Pavilion Theatre next to the Lower Gardens. In this popular city park is the Bournemouth Eye, a tethered hot air balloon with far-reaching views.
At the park’s top end the river disappears under a large square, then emerges in the Central Gardens. Overlooking these gardens is the Victorian town hall, which used to be one of several spa hotels in Bournemouth. Nearby, there's a Grade I registered historic church, and St. Peter’s Church has the grave of Mary Shelley, author of "Frankenstein."
On the outskirts of town, near 4 golf courses and the Castlepoint Shopping Center, is Bournemouth Airport.

Bournemouth is a small seaside town with kilometres of sandy beaches, so great in the warmer months to walk along, to paddle or to just sit for a few moments. There are most of the big shops located on the sloping streets if not at the shopping centre of Castlepoint further away. Bournemouth has a variety of eateries opening, closing or more permanent.

Bournemouth has much to commend it; but as with any seaside resort, has much more to offer during the summer. Nonetheless the Christmas lights are very pretty, with ice skating and other attractions.
Seek and enjoy!

Went to see Bob Dylan at the BIC. Also visited friends who live in Bournemouth. The hotel was ideally situated for the BIC, our friends and the main shopping area. Bournemouth is great for shopping, coastal walks, beaching and visiting nearby landmarks.

Walking along the coast which was all lit up at night, we easily racked up 20k steps a day. There are some amazing restuarants to visit, some lovely food choices. The aquarium and the huge wheel were great fun.

Ged and Jane were very welcoming. They put Easter chocolate eggs on the bed for us, which was a really nice touch.
-The room was exactly like the pictures! It was the cleanest room I've been in a bed& breakfast/hotel in the UK. The room was on the top floor, so it can be quite warm in the from time to time, but there is an air-conditioning unit!
-Breakfast was lovely!
-Locationwise, it's 5min walk from the Bournemouth train station. It takes something like 20-30min to walk to the city centre.
My first experience with Capital One Hotel was quite good from first minute being welcomed by receptionist Jamal, very professional and friendly service. The location is great, because it has a stunning view being close to the beach, Lower Bournemouth Gardens and the best view points. Central Shops are close to the hotel
It's not luxury but it's cheap, comfortable and perfectly OK. Don't know why everyone else complains about it. It is what it is. Go expecting the Ritz you'll be disappointed. If you want a hotel in the centre of Bournemouth right on the beach at a great price then this will suffice.
The hotel had friendly, very helpful staff… the location was absolutely perfect for going into Bournemouth or walking the beach to sandbanks. It was clean and had everything you needed… I can’t believe how good it was for the price!!
Location is great, short walk to beach and centre of town. Free parking was also really nice considering most hotels in Bournemouth charge £15 per night.
