The Bulls Head, hotel in Glossop

Set in Glossop and within 20 km of Victoria Baths, The Bulls Head features a bar, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi throughout the property.

Had several stays here going back over 7 or 8 years, so that tells it all really. Situated in a lovely quiet part of Glossop, overlooking a church and churchyard so it's pretty quiet. Staff are friendly and cheerful on arrival, and gave information about the local area. De-luxe double room was large and warm, and bed was very comfy. Shower and toilet were clean. Breakfast was served in the Queens Arms, literally a short 100m walk down from the Bulls Head. Excellent Full English Breakfast, along with cereal and gluten free alternatives should you prefer. Served by really nice staff, cheerful and chatty.

Lovely old hall. Room was a good size, warm and comfortable. Staff were friendly and although we didn’t use them this time there was an outdoor warm endless pool and spa facilities. The buffet style breakfast was very nice.

    Everything was great.

Everything was great. Fantastic little cafe on way to New Mill. Nice walk to it too along sett trail. Note the trail goes behind the industrial area to avoid the traffic on road. New Mills is an interesting little place, for charity shops and cafes. Very friendly people too.

    Extremely friendly and efficient welcome.

Extremely friendly and efficient welcome. Great team throughout our stay from the welcome, bar, evening meal and breakfast. Great food and menu. A lovely walk directly from the Inn along The Sett Valley Trail down into New Mills, Torr Valley Park and the Millennium Walkway. Easy bus journey back if you don`t want to walk the return.

Room was comfortable and clean. Carol was a fantastic host.

Room was comfortable and clean. Carol was a fantastic host. Breakfast was lovely with enough choices. Area was beautiful. Only downfall was the pillows which were too thin. If we went again we would ask for a room with windows instead of a skylight window but the view we could see was beautiful.

New Mills is a nice little town built near a river in hilly surroundings. It has a small but okay supermarket and several eateries and pubs. The Beer Shed in Market Street serves a great variety of local and continental beers. The Leisure Centre is the starting point of an excellent easy 4.5 mile walk along the river, which was a very good activity on a sweltering hot day. The town has a good train service to Manchester and is not far away from many Peak District highlights such as Castleton caves and Kinder Scout.

This was an accidental find, but an absolute little gem. Carol was so welcoming and our room was beautifully clean and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and the location was perfect as a base for many different walks. We're looking forward to returning for longer stay very soon!

The accommodation was probably the best that we had stayed in. Carol, the host was so friendly and helpful and everyday there were little chocolates, also biscuits, tea and coffee and also a bottle of water for each guest. The property has such a beautiful view and is so quiet for a great night's sleep. Breakfast is just amazing if you like the English but there are also vegetarian choices and and also cereal, porridge and fruit . The room, room 2 was huge, so clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. It is just such a perfect property and host.
