Lovley building, bit tired as in cleanliness sheets smelt musky ,like not used in awhile, there was no cold water in sink ,no water atall in bath or shower ,radiater did not work was cold but got supplied with heater which worked well .staff very nice but not enough of them .it's a butifull hotel and I can see it closing soon if it don't get more business which would be a shame ,just needs manager that can get it back on the map and some themed night to get coaches coming back .chef was a great cook food was lovley .

Parts of Biddeford were lively and busy with independent shops and eateries. The Bread Cafe was excellent. The staff were very attentive and engaging. We didn’t eat there as we had already eaten a large breakfast but the Rock Buns looked amazing and were very popular with other customers. However, there was also an area that looked a little rundown and in need of some tlc. A sign of the times sadly.

My accommodation was five miles or so from Bideford, in the countryside. Bideford offers shopping and eating opportunities and is a pleasant town. Not a place to spend all your time but, a good base from which to explore N. Devon.

We went in the winter which limited us a little but that's no criticism of the town or area, of course. Lots of tourist facilities. LOADS of activities and nearby beaches/estuaries. Shops open everywhere despite it being March and cold and wet.
It's a lovely place to visit for holiday/break/activities. Perhaps a tiny bit old fashioned but that added to the charm and if you needed tech it was there, just not so much in your face as at home.
Just the right atmosphere for family and/or romance.
Loveliest views & stunning landscapes offering endless walking/hiking/biking/watersports.

Superb fish & chips at Mr Chips and amazing Chinese food for takeaway at Mr Ho, loads of great restaurants and takeaways to choose from.
All large supermarkets available and the shopping area by Asda is worth a look.
Lot's of great charity shops but very uphill walk which is not really user friendly for anyone using crutches or walking stick, best to get droped off at the top and take it steady back down to the river front.

Friendly town with good places for the family to dine and rest. Ample areas to stroll around the town with waterfront and parks. Shopping is adequate and supermarkets allow for self-dining if required. Affordable restaurants and welcoming staff everywhere we visited.

Nice old-style hotel. Stayed just one night while we sat out torrential rain and a weather warning during our hike along the coast path. Location close to the path was perfect for arriving on foot. Also a very short walk across the bridge into the town centre. Room was warm, clean, comfortable. Bathroom, towels etc, all perfect. Tea/coffee facilities in the room were generous, the mini packs of Border biscuits were a small detail but a nice touch.
Andrew and Heather are warm, generous hosts and are stay there with them was excellent. The room was very comfortable, and clean and the breakfast was lovely. They were great hosts and our stay in north Devon was improved by their advice. I loved the area and how convenient it was to explore beautiful north Devon.
The hotel is like Agatha Christie meets the Titanic- very charming and old fashioned the room was clean the communal areas felt dated and oldy worldly - the team working over the weekend we were there were all amazing
The room we were in was very spacious and had a huge shower which was excellent. The hotel is in a good position to explore Bideford and parking is available nearby
