Borgie Lodge Hotel, hotel in Bettyhill

Borgie Lodge Hotel offers a Highland setting situated between Bettyhill and Tongue within the Borgie River Glen. This hotel is set within its own gardens.

What a fabulous place; even though we were staying in the bunk house, we were treated like full guests. Andi gave us a very warm welcome, even though we arrived dripping wet from a long day cycling in the rain. The drying wall was put to instant use and a clothes wash and dry offered (and accepted). Food was excellent both in the evening and for breakfast, and the barman was very good at persuading us to try their extensive collection of Malts. A beautiful part of the country too. Highly recommended!

Wee Hoose Glamping Pod 1, hotel in Bettyhill

Located in Skail in the Highlands region, Wee Hoose Glamping Pod 1 has a garden. This property offers access to a patio and free private parking.

I have been to this same location many time and I like the remoteness of the site amidst the beautiful landscape of the River Naver valley. The people in this area are friendly and if you love remote natural locations this is the place to go. Wonderful beach, with a lovely little store cafe only a 7 miles from the site in Betty Hill. This small community also has a shop, petrol and church. Plenty of walks in the area with quite a few wooded walks within easy distance of the pod site. The Glamping pods are completely self contained and the landlord (and his dog) supply you with a decent amount of food for a proper cooked breakfast (which you cook in the pod). The pods have a small shower and there is a communal campfire area outside if you wish to meet other campers. There are no street lights in this region, so the night skies are fantastic, and from the pods you can watch them through the window over the main bed. In autumn the surrounding countryside is spectacular and relatively easy to walk through. The weather is usually not that bad, although this is the North of Scotland, so do not expect tropical temperatures (even if the beaches are tropical to look at). And you need to a bit of rain to keep all the vegetation green and lush. Natural beauty comes at a price! Highly recommended.

The weather was not kind to us so we were unable to visit the lovely beaches in the area and the mountain views were not there to be seen. There is not a lot in Bettyhill, but we took a drive around the Kyle of Tongue (the old main road before the bridge was built) and the scenery around there was beautiful. We also took a stroll to Strathey Point and were entertained by Sandpipers, gulls and Oystercatchers singing in the fog.

We stayed in the hotel for one night.

We stayed in the hotel for one night. The location is just off the road on the North coast 500 but the room was quiet at night. The views from the hotel are stunning looking down to the beach and surrounding coastline. The room was very well appointed and we had. good night's sleep. There was a bar and lounge area and also a restaurant. The food both at night and for breakfast was very good. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel to friends and family for an overnight stay. Excellent.

I booked a one night stay at the Bettyhill Hotel whilst on a motorcycle trip on the NC500. The hotel boasts a fantastic scenic sea view location with it's restaurant and some rooms overlooking the sea. I received a room upgrade upon arrival which was a bonus but would expect every room to be to the same clean and comfortable high standard. The staff were friendly and helpful. Dinner was superb and great value for money, as was 'cooked to order' breakfast the following morning. If you like your malt whisky, there is a fantastic selection in the bar!

The hotel is perfectly located on the main road but was not noisy at all. Our room (1) was fantastic and the staff, service and food were all excellent. It was an absolute pleasure staying at the hotel and I cannot recommend it highy enough. The FBI is in the prefect location, just off a secluded beach and a short walk from Bettyhill. The accommodation is just as described, the breakfasts are amazing, and the family that own it are very welcoming - nothing is too much trouble. Will definitely return.
