Fantastic room - shame it didn't have a view., had patio doors to side of hotel.
Comfy bed - great shower. Nice touch having complimentary water & fresh milk in fridge.
Very quiet at night, not disturbed at all.
Great breakfast - you pick your breakfast time & breakfast options the night before. Breakfast then served to you in .
5 minds walk into town centre along the promenade.
Would recommend and definitely come back.

Due entirely to my own fault I had inadvertently booked an economy room. This turned out to be very small indeed with a small window looking out on to the rear car park. Fortunately, there were other rooms available and the very friendly and efficient receptionist upgraded us to a larger more deluxe room - at a cost of course. This room was very good, clean and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant with a wonderful view across the water and the food was first class. Breakfast next morning set us up for the rest of the day.
This hotel is only a short drive from Oban, where there is plenty of parking which we visited late afternoon. But we enjoyed being out of the large town at night and walking around Connel.
Recommended if you are looking for somewhere to stay close to, but not in, Oban.
Benderloch is a great location. However, one of the main reasons I wanted to stay there was to visit Castle Stalker, but that wasn't possible because it is privately owned and only availble to tour and book in advance, and only on very limited days per month (3 - 4 days). This was a great disapointment for me. So I recommend booking it 6 months in advance of your trip.

I had an enjoyable stay at Benderloch, while attending a course at Dunbeg. The local beach is perfect for swimming, and there are hairy coos grazing in front of the property. Adorable. Also, in the afternoons someone in the distance plays the bagpipes, just in case you forget you’re in Scotland. There are several good restaurants in the area, but a car is recommended to get around. There is a bus but I think the timetable would be limiting. If I’d had more time I would’ve gone for walks as the area is really beautiful.

Benderloch is a small linear village on the main road.
Benderloch is a small linear village on the main road. An area of flat land to the west of the village has several caravan, camping and motor home sites, B&B and restaurant facilities. It is well equipped for serving tourists needs. A walk up Beinn Lora is a must. The 360 degree views are spectacular. And a reward for the steep climb. Only a short drive to Oban with all the shops, bars, restaurants, transport links, and facilities a tourist needs.

Stunning views everywhere and so many walks and hikes all accessible from the hotel. We also visited Sunderland Grove Forest Walks which was so pretty, super walking routes, especially as we had just had the first snow fall.

Good location with lots to do within a 10 mile radius.
Good location with lots to do within a 10 mile radius. Benderloch is within easy reach of Oban ( where there's loads of ferry options to visit islands, go to Kerrera or Lismore). It was in November we visited so a few tourist things were closed but we had no problem getting seats in restaurants. Worth note is the Pier House hotel in Port Appin, superb food, prepared really well and great service. We were in Bendeloch for four days and didn't run out of things to do, during the summer i guess a week or more would be ideal.

Bendlerloch is a wee village with stunning views and handy for walking and exploring the cycle tracks which continue on to Oban and Fort William. There is the lovely Ben Lora cafe and bookshop with tables outside. Its easy to walk to Tralee beach.
Caol Ila was ideal for us. It was in a fabulous location with everything we needed for our break. Ronnie left us milk, orange juice, porridge, shortbread, tea, coffee etc and we were delighted with the fresh bagels too! It had outside seating in the sun! Is a 3 minute walk to Tralee Fish n Chip Shop, 10 minute walk to beautiful Tralee Beach where we swam, 10 minute walk to Hawthorne Restaurant in a wee cottage and 20 minutes walk into Benderloch to the Pink Shop and Ben Lora Cafe which has delicious cakes and coffee!
You couldn’t want for a more beautiful environment the island is a little piece of paradise. These hotels are old and notoriously difficult to maintain but this team really have made huge efforts to ensure that the fabric of the hotel are maintained to an extremely good standard given its age.Tasting menu was worth every penny!
Hawthorn cottage is situated in the most spectacular setting at the base of Benderloch mountain. The cottage itself has everything even cleaning materials. We took our own towels and teatowels. June and Willie were so friendly and welcoming. We plan to return.
