the house@glenbarr, hotel in Bellochantuy

Situated 20 km from Springbank Whisky Distillery, the house@glenbarr offers 4-star accommodation in Glenbarr and features a shared lounge.

A really great stay at this out of the way (on the Kintyre Peninsula), but very welcoming accommodation. The manager went out of her way to help, organising food for us so we didn't have to go out in rainy, wintry weather. The room was warm and inviting and very spacious.

Argyll Arms Hotel, hotel in Bellochantuy

Argyll Arms Hotel is set on Campbeltown’s main street, close to the seafront and where the ferries leave for Ardrossan.

Breakfast was a very good cooked breakfast - breakfast doesn't start until 7.30 am though which might not suit people who have to leave the hotel before then

We loved the easy access to our room with 3 dogs and a massive walk in shower gave us that extra space. We loved the clean towels and also how special you made it for our dogs, extra doggie towels and blankets and chewies for all 3 :))) We loved tea and coffee, chocs and biscuits and shampoos etc We loved the restaurant options and easy access for the dogs plus being able to sit outside and enjoy beachfront views or inside sea views - awesome!! Extra special to take the dogs out for beach walks although sad about one of the Canadian geese, and too many dead seagulls on the shore but overall beautiful seaside adventure. We travelled down as far as Saddler and got to tour with best mate Jane. Enjoy the peace, quiet, clean natural lifestyle while you can and it becomes another tourist overcrowded beach.

Bellochantuy is a really small village, you almost have to have a car if you want to venture around. It is conveniently placed to explore the Kintyre peninsula, but not for someone who is looking for pubs and exploring different restaurants every night.

This hotel was located on the coast with a million dollar view! The restaurant had delicious food and we enjoyed walking on the beach when it wasn't raining. Our room was very modern and comfortable. There was also a sitting room and plenty of places to be social if that is what you like. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling through or just wanting to get away for the weekend.

Beach front location. Argyll Hotel right beside the small caravan site. The hotel has a bar and does amazing food. The beach is very quiet and clean golden sands. Roads are quiet and the Kintyre Peninsula is feels very secluded and not touristy. Dog friendly caravan and hotel.
