My Partner & I booked this Hotel on our way home from The Wellington Heifer but as in my view of the Wellington HeiferI ended up staying here on my own as my Partner had a terrrible fall in the unsafe shower at the Wellington Eifer. Therefore I ended up staying here alone as my Partner was in Hospital. The staff were absolutely Brilliant lots of sympathy & empathy for me none of which we got at The Wellington Heifer. But staff at this Hotel were great as they could see I was terribly upset.

This is our second stay at the Green Dragon. Just an overnight stop on our way from Scotland to Norfolk. But such a great place to stop.
Comfortable rooms, great welcome, great food and great beer.

Comfortable and well maintained, with all the things we needed for our stay. Enjoyed sitting out in the garden in the sunshine! Great location - both the small market town itself and as a base for exploring the area.

I did not stay in Bedale as I booked but when I looked for hotel it was several miles from Bedale so as I did not like the room I visited Richmond instead. A lovely market town where I bought fish and chips and ate them in the market place in the sun. Would recommend Richmond

Nice little main street.
Nice little main street. Couple of shops, and able to get essentials. Quite a few pubs and lovely walk along the river for us, the kids & the dog. The only thing we missed was a pub with a garden outside for the kids to run around in & a swing slide. We couldn't find one in Bedale.

A nice village for essentials but no family type pubs for eating. most pubs etc closed for food at 7-00pm which is no good after a day out further afield or after swimming at tea time. the leisure centre was lovely, clean and reasonably priced.

Great experience of a proper rural village hotel/country pub. The locals were very welcoming and staff were excellent.
Snape is a decent walk (and lovely walk) to Bedale and taxis are hard to come by but the hotel staff offered to drive us there at night which was really appreciated.
There is a planned £150k refurbishment in the New Year so it would be great to go back and see what improvements have been made.
Overall a really pleasant and relaxing weekend, which is just what we wanted.
Food and beer 10/10 👌🏻
The room/bathroom was very clean and tidy, with a good shower. Good breakfast (full English) portions could do with being a little bigger, but they are not a show-stopper. the lunchtime and evening meal menu are excellent and worth a visit alone, very good value for money. The staff were excellent throughout our stay and helped us out as we needed to work during on stay.
Overall a very nice little hotel and great value for money.
That it was a place near to the town not too far away from the bus stop and supermarkets so could get shopping easier back to the cottage without a car. That it wasn't to far from bedale train station niether so was able to go have a ride on bedale trains without too much issue.
The breakfast, which was included in the price, was perfect. Cooked to perfection and very tasty. We had a meal there on the evening which was absolutely delicious. Cannot fault the service or the staff. The hotel is situated in a perfect spot for exploring the area.
