I have stayed here a few times when visiting my Mum. My stay has always been welcoming, great food and lovely rooms. The staff really care and everything is great value for money. I’m generally on my own and feel very safe and looked after! Even when my cockapoo joins me, she gets treated like a princess 🥰

1 ivy cottages the street norton subcourse NR146RS, hotel in Beccles

Boasting a garden, 1 ivy cottages the street norton subcourse NR146RS features accommodation in Norwich with free WiFi and garden views.

Had such an amazing time at ivy cottage, Tanya was so accommodating allowing me to check in later than expected and leaving breakfast goodies which weren’t included in the price. The cabin was so cute and cozy such a relaxing space for a weekend away. Honestly such a nice place to stay and would recommend. It’s definitely a bit more outside city but only a 30 minute max drive into the city.

I grew up in beccles but was back visiting my mum. Beccles common is good for dog walking as is down by the river from the Quay. Town center has some nice Georgian architecture. Bear and Bells pub was good but haven't been for a while. Other nice pubs, apart from the Swan, are in Geldeston just down the road. Wherry has a nice feel but try the Locks Inn. Truly a hidden gem !

we particularly like being next to the water and the hotel location offers riverside terrace an our room had twin aspect views of the river too. the tow is of reasonable size with plenty of assorted shops. lots of pubs and restaurants. interesting place to walk round with many interesting properties. its also not far to trip out to Southwold and a little further afield to Woodbridge. Oulton Broad is nearby too.

As we came late Saturday and left for a wedding on Sunday morning all the local shops and boutiques were closed on a Sunday. Roy's was quite nice to go around. The lido would be nice to visit in warmer weather.

    Beccles for me is perfect.

Beccles for me is perfect. Its a friendly village where people say good morning/hello to you as they walk past. You drink/eat in pubs not bars, the staff remember you and there is a genuine smile on peoples faces and not a fake forced one. There is a Quay where you can sit and watch the world go by peacefully whilst having a hot bacon baguette or a pasty with a hot cuppa. Or if you fancy one a cold ice cream. The is a cafe where you can take your pets after a long walk. There were quite a few people where i stayed at the Swan Motel where they went on holiday with their dogs. Changes the whole atmosphere that you can take your pets with you. Theres public transport if needed but its not running 24 hours like the city so you get peace and quiet of a night. No over abundance of street lights so you actually see the night sky and the stars. Its just a slower pace which is very relaxing. Beccles for me is like a second home, i look forward to visiting and hate leaving.

i LOVED the layout and facilities, the quality of furnishings, the windows and the view. the terrace was private and quiet, everything was well thought-through. a lovely retreat on the edge of beccles close enough to everything to walk, but far enough to feel like you were very secluded.
