Extremely comfortable memory foam bed. Beautifully decorated. Very spacious and comfortable. Stephanie and Justina were such wonderful hosts. I will definitely make this my go-to home away from home whenever I visit the UK.

You check in at the pub, but the rooms are in a building 2 doors down. They used key cards instead of keys. Breakfast is not included. The breakfast in the restaurant was bit pricey, but the quality was excellent. There is a plaque outside the building saying that Phil Vincent (designer and builder of the Vincent motorcycle) lived here (with his uncle) at one point. In the restaurant there is a large (approx 4' x 8') photograph of Rollie Free on a Vincent breaking a land speed record at Bonneville (wearing just a bathing suit, helmet, and slippers) in 1948.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The bed was comfy and the room clean.
Our only issue was the lack of recycling facilities in the room - there only seemed to be a rubbish bin and the loo roll holder is in such a position that it was knocked on the floor every time we sat on the loo!!

Public transport was great.
Public transport was great. Many paved paths 'shared' for walking & cycling. However, unlike the roads there, the paved sidewalks -especially when walking outside of the 'Town Centre,' are often uneven as I found myself being frequently 'tripped-up.'
Also, in some areas, the bushes near the sidewalks haven't been 'tended to' by the city and are often encroaching onto the sidewalks -footpaths, which in turn are 'in-your-face!'
Basildon and the surrounding area has a lot of traffic and a fair amount of graffiti too, along w/ too much litter around.

I attended my brother’s wedding here and the venue was beautifully decorated. The food was delicious. I stayed overnight and the room was clean and the bed super comfortable. What makes this whole trip was the staff, they were so friendly and helpful. I’m taking away the best memory from this and that’s priceless.

All staff were so friendly, helpful and professional. We really couldn't have had a more pleasant experience. Rooms were clean, tidy and very welcoming. It was lovely to book into our room after an hour and a half drive, and sit down and have a cup of tea. We'll done Basildon and thank you.

Well there was not much I liked the hotel was clean and inviting ,
We eat at the Toby carvery which was better value for breakfast compared to the hotel prices ,
We went to see the Quo experience who were preforming there that evening and thought it would be nice to stay ,
I do feel that it is a lot of money to stay for one night as the room was small and cold !
Parking is a rip off as I didn’t know about that before arriving as I would have gone somewhere else think carefully people if you intend to stay for a few nights as 24hr parking was £12.

The staff were brilliant and our stay was very good in most respects with just two provisos; our room wasn't cleaned and we made our own bed; also I think the language in the bar was foul from 3 customers and loud. I am no prude as I have worked in industrial environments, but I think at best there is a time and a place if one thinks swearing is appropriate. This occurred on Fri 13th.

Everything. Lovely quiet accommodation and the owner was lovely. For me, it made sense as the price was great, and in fact, if I had been staying at the hotel, I was doing a course at it, which would have cost me a load of money, but I paid a fraction of that. Actually, let me put it like this, I got an Uber from North London and back, Ubers to hotel for course and back again and the price of to room and I still saved money when compared to just the hotel bill.
Looks like a residence more than an hotel, so gives you that feel and independence of a micro-apt. Double door which is good. Probably in the middle of nowhere, so consider if you have a car before booking (I went there for working reason, so this didn't impacted me).
Breakfast includes lot of options & vegetal milks, which is not that common in UK.
Special mention for the super nice cook.
Good location for visiting family. Cheaper than budget hotel room in area. Good kitchen facilities. Spacious. Large TV with lots of channels. Easy free parking in front of property.
