Wonderful charming hotel, comfortable bed, very clean and well appointed, with a nice bar and restaurant. It was a welcomed retreat after a stressful and long travel day! Look no further! You will not regret it!

Host accommodated a late check in and we were able to park at the pub down the road-due to very tight on sight parking. Host also had an early breakfast set up for us. Rooms were in what was once an animal barn. Beautiful beams and stucco walls.
Barry is built on a hill so not for the faint hearted.

People were friendly plenty choice to eat out and plenty of coast line to walk.
We also drove to the Big Pitt well worth a visit which takes you underground in a real coal mine.

Barry Island was nice, plenty for the younger children to do, not sure if there is enough for teenagers. There is an area if I remember called the "Shed Store" something like that, anyway it has a few food outlets a few Cafe's and shops and at least one bar, well worth a visit. It looks like there is going to be quite a few developments in the coming years so we will definitely be going again.

Barry is perfect for a City break to cardiff.
Barry is perfect for a City break to cardiff. The reason why is because you have a few options. These options are:
1) It is only 8 miles from Cardiff
2) Rail and bus links to cardiff are very good and frequent.
3) If its sunny - you can enjoy the beach and resort at Barry Island, and if its raining go ahead with the city of Cardiff visit.

Interesting to see the new and the old.
Interesting to see the new and the old. Massive amount of regeneration going on, but still parts that won't have changed in my life time. It's worth a walk round the whole of the "island" not just the promenade. Barry town centre is a bit run down but efforts being made to improve things.

Stayed in Barry as the hotel was A LOT cheaper than Cardiff for the bank holiday/Bruce Springsteen gig. 2 mins away from train station, pubs and chip shop. Ideal for what we needed the weekend.
Barry itself is OK and nearby is Barry Island fair and the beach. Not too far from the airport and half hr to cardiff on the train for £6.

The apt was light, bright and airy. 2 beds and 2 bathrooms. One was ensuite. The location is ideal for Barry Docks train station, local bars, restaurants and shopping facilities. Trinity Street is 4 mins away by car for Gavin and Stacey fans and Barry Island is 5 mins away. The apt is located in a quiet road, just off the main road.
We could not fault our stay at all, it was brilliant from start to end, we visited Barry Island as we are massive fans of Gavin and Stacey, was brilliant to see them filming and to top off our stay was meeting James Corden, will be back again next year
Staff were very friendly and room 55 is a very large room with lovely freestanding bath. Incredible views over Barry and Barry Island. The hotel is only a couple of minutes walk from the train station.
