Blackwell House, hotel in Banbridge

Blackwell House is located in the countryside bordering County Down and County Armagh, 5 miles from Banbridge. This beautiful country house offers lovely rooms, a restaurant and a garden.

We stayed in the Loft Suite, private entrance, huge room with terrace and hot tub. Everything was perfect. Alessio and Edele, their daughters and Riley were very welcoming. We ordered breakfast the night before and it was ready promptly at the requested time the next morning. There was no hurry from the hosts to leave, told us to take our time. Myself and my partner have never stayed anywhere so relaxing and welcoming. We will definitely return.

The separate bathroom was always immaculate. Breakfast was always a highlight and could be enjoyed with some of Stevie's homemade jam if requested. You can also enjoy the surrounding garden weather permitting.

The room and house was very comfortable and quiet. James was very nice to talk to and went out of his way to accommodate for a gluten free breakfast and snacks. He provided good suggestions for restaurants and places around. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again if we are in the area.

There is a number of great places to eat in Banbridge. My 3 favorites are Safari Grill, Downshire Hotel and Blend and Batch. There is a big outlet shopping mall and plenty of other big named brand shops both in the town and up at the mall.

The Bannside Riverside Walk and Solitude Park are not to be missed if in the area. My ancestors lived and worked in the area and I was able readily access the relevant historic churches, graveyards etc with no time constraints. Beautiful town and surrounding areas that make you realise it was other things that meant the people left. The beauty of this peaceful place belies the social history.

First time in Banbridge, but we enjoyed it. We ate at a couple of establishments whilst we were there. A new shopping mall with an M&S outlet and a Next outlet has recently opened, there is a huge Tesco there.
