Beautiful town with loads of independently run shops and a couple of restaurants. Great base for day trips further afield too such as the many picturesque beaches that are about 30 minutes by car. Beware of the roads. Incredibly narrow!

The hotel is about half an hour from Plymouth and is an ideal place for an overnight stop before catching the ferry to Santander. However it is surrounded by countryside although situated just off the main road. Other travellers staying were exploring the Dartmoor countryside either on bikes or walking.
The staff were very personable and attentive. We had an exceptional meal in the restaurant at night. The breakfast was good and our room was compact but adequate. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to others.

Great welcome from hosts. Great location for cookery school and also for non cooks. Close to Dartington Hall,
Buckfast Abbey, Totnes etc. Ashburton has a fair number of small individual shops.
Very good breakfast.
centrally placed on Ashburton's High Street close to shops and amenities. Spacious old property with lots of charm. Lofty ceilings. !5-minute walk to Ashburton Cookery School which was the reason for our stay.
The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The house was ideally situated for our weekend at Dartmoor River Park and then for our trip in to Ashburton. It had beautiful gardens and was peaceful at night.
