Bailiffscourt Hotel & Spa, hotel in Arundel

Set in 30 acres of private parkland, Bailiffscourt Hotel & Spa features an indoor and outdoor pool, modern spa and fitness centre, and tennis courts.

Spa facilities and the grounds were beautiful. Loved the heated pools, particularly in the evening with Christmas lighting on and small amount of visitors. The showers were powerful and fantastic in the room. Staff was lovely though the experience level varied. My partner got his shoes taken while at the spa, which was partly his fault for leaving them out as other people did at the changing rooms, but the hotel/spa staff didn't seem too interested in helping and also couldn't, as they kept no proper record of who entered or left the spa at any point, which seemed very unsafe from security perspective. It also meant, that despite only 2 other people being present at the spa with us at the time the shoes gone missing, nobody knew who that was and couldn't contact them. We couldn't go hiking as a result over the next couple of days, which was a real shame.

Our favorite little village in Sussex.

Our favorite little village in Sussex. It just can't be beat. From one of the most beautiful intact castles in the UK, to excellent shops, restaurants, and pubs, and finally, the friendliest locals you'll ever meet, Arundel is not to be missed.

We stayed in The Studio (highly recommend) Monday - Friday.

We stayed in The Studio (highly recommend) Monday - Friday. Could probably have covered everything in 2-3 days but the extra time meant a more leisurely trip! The castle is a must with beautiful gardens too - we visited in October so could only imagine the amazing colours there must have been earlier in the year. The cathedral and Anglican church (attached to the castle church but entrance from the road) also worth visiting. Pop in the St Mary's Gate pub when you go to the cathedral and church. And the Town Hall too - a very friendly lady on reception gave us a tour. Cockburn's Tea Rooms do the most amazing cakes and La Campania Italian restaurant also highly recommended. We also liked the Red Lion - friendly, good food. If you like antique shops, including militaria, there are plenty of those too! Most shops / cafes are independent too, which we loved.

Main purpose of trip was to visit the Castle which we have been meaning to do for 8 years! It is a lovely town with independent shops and places to eat. Would like to revisit to see the Castle Gardens in bloom and visit other attractions such as the Cathedral and lake.

    Lovely friendly people.

Lovely friendly people. The Eagle Inn is very welcoming and the Mott and Bailey has lovely food. It's easy enough to walk around even though it's on a hill. If you have mobility issues, I saw ever the most delicate walkers manage the hill, they just took it slowly. We visited on the first Antique fair for 120 years. It was fab with lots of stalls and vintage cars and scooter.

Excellent location right in the center of Arundel. Two bars part of the hotel with a lot of seating in and out, ideal for sole traveler. Breakfast excellent. Compact but nice room. Wide single bed positioned partly behind the wall of the build in bathroom so that you cannot see the corridor lights creeping under the door.

Excellent location, great room with large comfy bed, on-site parking (reserve in advance). Lucie and Iain (the owners) were very friendly and cooked a great breakfast. Excellent value for money and more of hotel quality than a B&B, highly recommended and will certainly stay there again if going to Arundel.
