The location is just beautiful....superb.
This was my 2nd holiday staying in a pod, just love the experience.
There isn't a tv in the pod which didn't concern me & to be honest a tv would have interfered & spoilt the aura of the place.

Tricky one to review, as we paid in full in advance, but didn't stay - Storm Ashley's effect was to cancel our near-ish Mallaig Ferry, and CalMac ferries moved our departure down-coast to an Oban, at understandably short notice. Lochailort's refunds policy is they require two weeks' notice of cancellation, which they politely affirmed upon declining a refund (which we're seeking from CalMac who caused our problem.)
Arisaig is a great base for exploring the Small Isles.
Arisaig is a great base for exploring the Small Isles. Passenger boats operate from Arisaig, but if you have a blue badge you can actually sail with Calmac from Mallaig which is just a few miles away, and by the way…the drive along the coast road from Arisaig to Mallaig is spectacular!! You can take your car to Eigg & Muck with Calmac if you apply for a permit a few months before your holiday dates. I did, and was able to see SO much more of these islands than if I just stayed at the village where the harbour is!!
I’m led to believe that it’s possible to take your car to Canna & Rum, but they’re owned by the NTS and the person I phoned wasn’t very helpful! So I went as a passenger to Rum, but I didn’t know that the village on Rum is a mile away from the harbour, and being on crutches at the moment I found this walk extremely difficult….it took me an hour, and I was exhausted by the time I got there!!! Thankfully, the very kind lady at the shop gave me a lift back to the harbour when the ferry was due😄 You should know that the ‘road’ to the village is just an unmade track which runs mostly through trees, with only occasional views of the bay. So if you’re not a great walker there isn’t much to see on Rum!
This experience left me wishing there were Landrover tours of the island operating from the harbour, for people who wouldn’t otherwise see much of Rum….and there is SO much beauty and wildlife to be seen there by all accounts!!!

On the morning of our departure the weather was stunning and visitors to Arisaig were sitting on the benches at the waterfront taking in the tranquil scene. Loch Morar must be a superb spot in the summer. Would have considered a boat trip to the Small Isles if we had been staying in the summer. Cafe was good. Real community feeling to Arisaig. Old Library best place to eat. The road from Arisaig to Fort William is stunning.

Excellent area to be based in.
Excellent area to be based in. The scenery and beaches are first class. It is within easy distance to Mallaig, Fort William and many other attractions in the area such as the Jacobite Steam Train and Glenfinnan Railway Viaduct and Monument. Excellent choices of food - highly recommend the restaurant in The Library - first class service and food. Boat trips and ferries leave for the islands at the harbour as well.

The property was located in a idyllic location and is exceptionally clean...the owner was very helpful and friendly...a place never to forget..
You will need a car to enjoy the beautiful surroundings...take the ferry over to the Isle of Skye..The Old Library restaurant on Arisaig needs to be booked in advance, but is worth it...so is the bay opposite..
The only downside is the need to purchase petrol either in Mallig - when they have it or travel an hour to Fort William...

Access in and out of the Village was very easy.
Access in and out of the Village was very easy. It is located on a main road and there is a train station there. Arisaig is a small village that is easy to access. We ate at the Old Library, highly recommended, and the pub, also good specifically when live music is featured. Food ordered from the Seafood Shack was really teriffic and beautifully presented. The little tea room at the harbour provides lovely views and wonderful snacks. The favourite destination is the Visitors' centre offering an in depth history of the are, its residents and some very interesting artifacts.

Beautiful little village with amazing veiws and walks. an outstanding pub the Arisaig hotel where the staff look after you like an old friend and food is fresh. Friday night at the hotel is music night, traditionally played by very talented musicians, not to be missed. Friday's are fresh days, seafood shop and bread shed open the bread was unbelievable best to order ahead
On Saturdays the bread shed turns its skill to wood fired pizzas although we didn't have a chance to try them the word on the street is unmissable.

We loved the remote location, views of the sea and countryside with a highlight of the deer visiting most days. Cottage is comfortable and well equipped, we loved having a fire of an evening. Dogs had plenty of room to roam and we enjoyed walking to the sea.. Staff very friendly and helpful. The balcony was perfect to sit and relax.
Beautiful local beaches and excellent places to eat in Arisaig and Mallaig. Easy to catch the Harry Potter Train near here to go over that famous viaduct.
Loved the house, and everything was exceptional and clean. Comfy beds, well-appointed kitchen, and the upstairs bedroom was excellent. The scenery is amazing with stunning views over the Sound of Arisaig. Mike and Fiona were great hosts. Will definitely return the next time I've the chance.
The Old library had lovely rooms and it was really clean and tidy. The owners of the hotel were really lovely and went above and beyond to get us breakfast before we left for the ferry. The food was really well cooked and delicious. my brother has tried to book in again in eight weeks.
Cosy & comfortable with everything we needed for our long weekend in Arisaig, very clean & nicely decorated, we loved the pod & Eilidh was a wonderful host, very happy to help & quick to respond to all messages. Thank you again! We especially liked the surprise breakfast hamper!
