The staff were lovely, they went the extra mile!
The room was gorgeous and well decorated. The hot tub was so relaxing and lovely being just outside on the balcony. Little extras in the room such as robes and slippers just add to the experience.
Comfy bed and an excellent nights sleep! We would definitely come back!

Beautiful decor, warm, cosy and very grand open fires
Loved the outdoor fire pits at night so we could star/moon gaze.
Great staff, worried some local whiskey, which was recommended by one of the team.

The dinner and breakfast were excellent. The accomodation was in a separate chalet with parking outside. The staff were friendly. There was an area for walking our dog. We were made to be feel very welcome.

Lovely stay. Lovely couple who kept it. Nice warm welcome & lovely room & good sized bathroom. We rang up to book a meal on the evening which was really nice. Breakfast was really nice too. Yes would recommend staying there. Would certainly go there again.
Very comfortable. Very clean, homely and welcoming.

Alstonfield is a great location from which to start local hikes to Dovedale and other local villages. It is also convenient for location a little further afield like Bakewell, Buxton, and Chatsworth, all about 30 min drive. Alstonfield has a lovely pub call the George, which is friendly and serves good beer. The church is interesting, and the village itself is small being set amongst farmland used for diary and sheep farming.

Such a quiet place, if you have never been be warned the roads are narrow and there is little to no mobile signal or internet.
Perfect for a technology de-tox break.
The local pub we went was inexpensive on beer but expensive poor food with a really long wait and very small portions.

Rural, quiet, peaceful, picture perfect, indeed so lovely I created several watercolors and ink sketches of the area together with photos to fully record and enjoy the stay. Views in every direction, great bird and wildlife opportunities. Absolute bliss!

We stayed at Milldale, a small hamlet, about 1 mile from Alstonefield, and easily walkable by talking the road in either direction from the cottage. Alstonefield is a small attractive village with a pub (The George). We did not make it to the pub, which is Michelin rated and for this trip we were quite content eating at home, in the cottage, or grabbing some lunch on our travels throughout the Peaks. If shopping was needed, then the best and nearest place to head for is Ashbourne, a town with supermarkets and some very nice independent shops.

The accommodation is in a really private and quiet area with a really pretty garden and lovely views across fields to the hills in the distance. Lots of wildlife to be seen and walks from the door down to milldale or to the village of Alstonefield itself which is a beautiful village. Also not far to drive to lovely village pubs too and can have drinks at the accommodation on your return.

Lovely staff made us feel welcome from when we arrived to when we left. The hotel itself was really nicely decorated and clean. The room was simple yet spotlessly clean as well, the views were good even with the road and having the trail at the back of the hotel was perfect for taking the furbaby for an evening stroll with some stunning scenery.
Also the breakfast was spot on, the extras were all yummy, the croissants especially and the full English was cooked perfectly.
So many positives about this lovely hotel. The hosts were brilliant and absolutely couldn't do enough for us. We have some dietary requirements and they went above and beyond to cater for us.
The rooms are brilliant with artwork all over, including in the wonderful drawing room with a log fire and record player.
The location is also perfect for getting lost in the peak district, with miles of hilly countryside around on all sides.
Everything was perfect from start to finish.
We had a daog with us and the staff were so accommodating to the 'doggie' owners.... even a separate sausage served in a dish for them each morning!
Appreciating the trauma that hotels and the catering industry have gone through due to covid, this was perfect and way above our expectations..... well done guys!!
What a lovely stay, we arrived late and the host had waited up for us, we sat down in the living room with a lovely log fire burning while we waited to put our breakfast order in.
The hotel feels like a lovely big old house, so much charm and the room and bathroom were lovely. We really couldn't have asked for more.
we were attending a friends wedding and this hotel was in close proximity. they catered for my husband who had food allergies well. bedroom was clean and bed was comfortable
