The village and the venue were wonderfully quaint, we love old fashioned things and the place was delightful for us to stay.

I booked this Peaceful hotel to stay with my mother to visit my brother who is in south mead hospital the staff were all professional and made us very welcome. The hotel was warm and cozy, and we loved the location. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel which we utilized with Uber taxis and a five-minute walk to the most beautiful English church Saint Mary’s, where we received a special blessing for the healing of the sick, which was perfect for my dear brother. Few photos of the church and one photo of us in the garden of the hotel and westbury is close by for good cafes and shopping. Sorry I didn’t get more photographs of the hotel but it’s very much like staying someone’s home and we felt at home there. If I ever come back to visit Bristol, this is the hotel I would stay at it was perfect.

The smell of the wood and the beautiful toiletries. The comfortable bed. The cleanliness. The quality of the tea tray products. The quirkiness. The diner with it's amazing breakfast choices.

Staff kindness but still no one went out of their way for us to make the trip memorable or for us to come back. We even heard the cleqning supervisor telling off the cleaners. Breakfast was good with bottled water.

Everyone and everything. From the moment I arrived at the hotel, I adored it. The hotel knew I was having trouble finding it, and one of the team members, a kind gentleman, greeted me even though it was contactless as he was "only next door" and could come by. He could not have been nicer. While offering, he just grabbed my luggage and showed me my room, which was gorgeous. I have stayed in many hotels worldwide; this is one of the most cozy but elegant, relaxed, charming rooms I have ever stayed in. You don't want to leave, but they were nice enough to book me dinner at one of the restaurants they recommended nearby. After I came down, the gentleman told me he would walk with me to the restaurant because it would be easier. What was the last time that happened to you? I felt like a lucky child being cared for, and I enjoyed the chat as we walked. After a great dinner, I returned and bathed in the zinc tub. After a long day and flights, I love a bath, but this was unique and deep. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. They also have a great shower, so it is not either\or... It was fantastic, but everything and every detail was well thought out, so the cohesive whole was terrific. Their breakfast choices were exceptional but also had the standards and were tasty, with quality jams and tea. But what makes it stand out is they get hospitality. It's not just that the hotel is beautiful, but it's hip without any attitude and friendly. The personal art collection the owner shares raises the interiors to a whole new level. It's everything you want and is not a carbon copy of every hotel. It's why you want to stay in a small boutique hotel, but the service is first class, the people love to work there, and it shows because they work from the heart, make you feel welcome, and you don't want to leave as it offers excellent value and a wonderful haven.

Dreadful link to the local taxi service.
Dreadful link to the local taxi service. The one booked never showed up so I had to drive to central Bristol and pick my car up in the morning. Ruined the timing for the following day. No matter that the hotel does not control the taxi service, they MUST get a reliable link. Cannot afford to risk the same thing again so am forced to go elsewhere. Pity.

The small village is a great place to stay.
The small village is a great place to stay. There’s a real community vibe to the village. A community shop staffed by volunteers provides a decently priced and wide array of products. The church is lovely. On a couple of occasions I needed information and locals went to great lengths to assist me.
The bell ringing practice on Monday night was unexpected, but that shows the level of community involvement. That was the only noise I heard apart from usual pub interactions which weren’t too bad.

Since I was going on a business it was ok.
Since I was going on a business it was ok.
As this is the second time this year that I have left the isle of Man and travelled to England, and had poor or medioca hotel and restreaunt/cafe service, I am comming to the conclusion that ,since the end of covid, much of the Englsh hospitality industry is hell bent on recovering their losses, that they want to srew as much money as possible out of clients, not caring too much about the service they offer. I am jolly glad when leaving the Island, I had a good breakfast on the ferry, not waiting until I arrived in England for a meal.

Great value for money. Rooms clean and a modern twist on a traditional English building.
Several warm options to choose from for breakfast (we went for Eggs Benedict and it was really nice). Good location for Bristol and surrounding areas (if driving). We decided to have dinner at the Bowel Inn and were not dissappinted. Portions and quality of dinner were great.
Country location north of Bristol but access to the motorway networks to M4 and M5. Close to both Bristol and Bath. Nice homely pub, decent food.
Friendly staff.
