Staff were very welcoming and very helpful with anything I needed. My dog was spoilt and enjoyed her stay too. Couldn't have asked for a better service. The location is perfect and quiet. Very impressed with the whole experience. The host was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble.

Great communication from the host. Nice and clean. Easy access. Some little games which we made use of. Welsh cakes on arrival which was a nice touch. Cosy and warm house. Great WiFi and TV access. Own driveway right outside the property. Nice location with a short walk to the town centre, restaurants and supermarket.

Abergavenny itself has a range of shops including independents and good restaurants. It has a station, which is a bonus! And is a good centre for walking. There are several good walks that you can do from Abergavenny itself and more are accessible by car and train. There is also a theatre (and a small cinema) so check out the programmes. There are lovely restaurants and independent coffee shops.

Abergavenny is a great little town with a lively market, good food and historic interest. Don't miss the museum in the Tithe Barn (the town tapestry is amazing), and if you are an art lover, the Priory Church is a must-see for its spectacular set of medieval carvings in wood and stone.

Absolutely stunning.
Absolutely stunning. Outstanding hosts, warm and friendly offering us tips on hiking trails and even lent us a spare backpack to take on our hikes when we forgot ours. Couldn’t do more for us, they were great. Beautiful location the barn is well equipped with everything you need. We stayed in the top bedroom on night 1 which was lovely and quiet, but might be a little too low and tight for bigger guests. We loved it. Definitely will return. Thanks both xx

Very interesting mining history of the town.
Very interesting mining history of the town. Nearby Mining exhibition Big Pit and the museum in Bleanavon is highly recommended. As well as the Iron works exhibition. Ideally located to drive to Cardiff, Coch and Cearphilly Castle and Caerleon.

It's a beautiful area of the country, many rural churches to visit, as well as Dore Abbey and Llanthony Priory. St Mary's in Abergavenny has an extraordinary 15thC sculpture of Jesse under the tree of life, carved from one oak trunk. Lots of amazing walks too.

It's in a perfect location for the town centre. There's a big car park across the road which you pay for (e.g.£5.60 for 24 hours) and there's a huge free car park down the hill towards the river; great for dog walking. The hotel is well looked after by caring, friendly staff. Breakfast was great. There's a lovely tree-lined piazza where you can enjoy food and drinks.Couldn't fault anything. Worth whatever you pay.
Ffion went out of her way to make our stay at The Abergavenny Hotel as comfortable and easy going as possible. We appreciated all the information we were given both in the folder in the room and verbally, to enable us to enjoy our first visit to the town. The Continental breakfast buffet was exceptional both in quality of food and drinks and the way it was thoughtfully displayed to give easy access for each item.
Skirrid cottage was comfortable, bright and cosy with all we needed for our visit.
Our hosts were welcoming, kind and helpful.
We had a delightful stay and would happily return.
The cottages are in a beautiful setting, conveniently placed for visiting Abergavenny, the local mountains, including Sugarloaf, canal walks and many of the attractions of South east Wales.
Fantastic location right in the centre of Abergavenny. Cosy comfy cottage. Very quiet although we were just behind the pub.
Great area for shopping and eating out. Lovely walks nearby.
Great view, great part of Wales, great history, great welcome, thanks Gail. Loved Abergavenny and the hills, even having to double back with your forgotten room key was quite funny
