a lovely village with interesting church, castle and gardens, even a train station for quick access to Edinburgh, Perth, etc. Would have liked more time there as spent one day doing the nearby Dalmeny trail half marathon.

Loved the hotel and the surrounding village. The Silver Sands beach and cafe only a 10 minute walk away. Wonderful place to go and chill out for a couple of days. Ideal for walkers or those who just want to take short drives around the East coast.

The cottage was beautiful and tastefully decorated. The bathroom is on ground floor with a large walk-in shower There is a sea view from the bedroom window, parking at the front door and a sort walk to the beach. There are a few shops in the village - post office, a deli and gift shop. The train station to Edinburgh is a five minute walk. The whole stay was perfect.

The hotel was clean and The Staff where lovely the only problem was wee could not sit in the bar to have a drink as the tables were all booked for food So wee had to leave the hotel to go and have a drink Then come back to our room until it was time for us to go down for our meal we found it very inconvenient and strange as most off the tables where booked for locals .

Aberdour is small and easy to get round though there is a steep walk to the harbour. There are several interesting gift and art shops as well as enough eating places to keep you going during the day and in the evening. The library advertises events which visitors can join in with, for example while I stayed there was a talk about the Lewis Chessmen, followed by refreshments and craft sales. The railway station is on the main line to Edinburgh and there are also good bus services to north and south of the town for visitors without their own transport. It is a beautiful town with short walks on lovely coastal and country routes.

Comfortable room, great staff and the food and wines are delicious. Not to mention the port! Perfectly placed for exploring Aberdour and the walk along the coast to silver sands was delightful. It was a bit daunting eating and drinking in the bar area in the evening on my own but the lovely ladies Pam and Sharon made it so comfortable with their cheerfulness and chat. Absolute superstars. The rest of the staff were friendly too.

We hired the hotel for our wedding. The space was fantastic for our group of 24. John (owner) was extremely helpful and helped us to contact local business owners and went over and above to help make the prep on the run up to the day as smooth as possible. We had a fantastic stay and we absolutely loved using the different areas for different parts of our day. Thank you!

Location is wonderful. Just a couple of minutes walk from the beach, in the quiet village of Aberdour, and just 5 minutes walk to the station with train direct to Edinburgh. We loved the seaview from the the living room and terrace. The house is beautifully decorated and furnished throughout, and very comfortable to stay in.

Aberdour is very well served with local shops, cafes and pubs. Garden Cottage is only 100 metres walk from a quiet beach and small harbour serving the local yacht club. Easy travel into Edinburgh; 30 mins by train. Kids (of all ages) will enjoy the trip over the Forth Rail Bridge.
