This Auberge is a lovely place for an overnight stop whilst travelling through France. The location is perfect right next to the river Vendee. It has a delightful restaurant with an outside seating area overlooking the river. The perfect place for an afternoon beer if you arrive a little early. We booked a table for Dinner and the food was excellent and of the highest quality. The "degustation" is a series of Haute Cuisine surprises amounting to seven plates. Absolutely superb. The entire hotel is spotlessly clean.
The auberge is very picturesque and located on the river bank. We had a lovely welcome from the lady on reception and she was very kind to us throughout our stay, even interrupting her evening meal to ensure we had a drink on returning from a walk along the riverbank.
The decor is very tasteful, a lovely combination of modern and older features such as old oak beams. We didn’t dine in the hotel but enjoyed an excellent breakfast overlooking the river.
We have stayed here a number of times and like it so much that on this trip we made sure our journey took us here twice! The rooms are simple but comfy and the location of the hotel is great as it is alongside the river with lovely paths for walking and cycling. It is quiet and peaceful. The restaurant is an outstanding experience, beautiful food and really good service.
The room was lovely, positioned right on the bank of the Vendée river. Spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. The restaurant is very good, especially if you are a foodie!
Staff were very helpful and attentive.
Really pleasant hotel in a great location.
This hotel is in a very scenic location by the river Vendée - my husband even spotted a kingfisher while we were there! It is also very convenient for the motorway. We thought that the evening meal was very good value for the quality of food provided.
