Self-contained, well-equipped studio apartment on a hill at the end of a private dirt road. It's part of a big property, and it's absolutely still at night. The view on the porch (which is flanked by a row of tree-sized dracaenas) across the hills is wonderful. The owners live in the large house next door, and are absolutely lovely and helpful people. Mariza's paintings in the apartment are very good, and we got 2 pots of their prize-winning home-made honey as a present. And it's an amazing place for star-gazing, since there's almost no light pollution. It's not cheap, but the location couldn't be lovelier. The village of Tiuccia and neighboring villages with shops, restaurants, gas stations and quite a few nice beaches are just a 5-10 minute drive away, and could even be reached on foot (about 2 kms to the nearest beach and supermarket). And even though we were here in the middle of high season, the area never seemed crowded, and has a ton of places to explore - coast, forests, mountains... A very nice place to spend a holiday!
