This property is an absolute gem! It is one of our all time favorite stays. Our hosts met us after a long, hot day on our touring bicycles with cold juice and a very warm welcome. We arrived on a very busy bank holiday weekend but Pepita immediately was able to secure us dinner reservations. The house has been renovated with such charm and comfort that we immediately fell in love. The rooms were well appointed and the beds were amazing. After a very comfortable nights stay we were feasted with the best breakfast ever including fresh fruits and juices, yogurts, croissants, an assortment of fresh breads, eggs, bacon, and of course, excellent coffee. If I could give this stay a rating of 11 I would!

This is a quiet market town in a spectacular spot. It makes a good base for anyone seeking the high spots of the Loire from a much less busy base. Saumur and Tours are not far away but this is an authentic French town. We'd recommend the Cafe des Arts for a fun French bar.

We arrived the day after a bank holiday so was really quiet with not a soul around! Some parts of the town were looking a bit neglected but we were recommended a fabulous local french restaurant and it was amazing! When we woke up the following day there was a huge market taking place just across the road, so we had to take a wander around!
Location fabulous, if you're staying in Thouars, and a very lovely place to spend a couple of days. It had a pool, which although small, was perfect for a cooling dip on a hot day and in a very picturesque spot. Continental breakfast was full of homemade treats, Guillaume even cooked a cherry Clafouti one morning. The Hosts were very welcoming and friendly making the stay one we didn't want to end. Dinner was excellent too.
Marie-Claire was very welcoming and friendly, even though she was unwell and it was pouring with rain when I arrived.
The bedroom was very comfortable and clean and the bathroom was well-equipped (great shower) and also very clean.
I was able to store my bicycle in the locked courtyard.
Breakfast was good and there was plenty to eat.
Thouars is a lovely, old city, with some wonderful buildings and great views.
We absolutely loved this hotel!! This was hands down our favourite. Breakfast was unreal (such a good selection) even though it is off season. The staff were sooo helpful and the manager was always happy and helping us out, offering us a garage to put our bikes in, giving us suggestions for a restaurant. We wish we could have stayed another night!
