Perfectly adequate. We were in an attic room which was characterful, rather than standard, i.e. little window, creaky floor, accessed via a spiral staircase. Won’t be to everyone’s taste but we were happy with it. Staff were friendly and helpful. Value for money.

Superb quality accommodation with excellent facilities & surroundings..
Lovely host with excellent breakfast .
This hotel is located near the Meuse Valley and the Ardennes Forest. The town of Charleville Meziéres is the birthplace of Arthur Rimbaud and the puppet capital of the world.

Very functional hotel in a quiet residential area just outside main town area.

Signy-l'Abbaye is the quintessential French village, located in the lovely Ardennes region of France, an area of rolling countryside, close to the Belgian border and the town of Charleville-Mezieres, well worth a visit. The whole area is distinguished by historic monuments, including some fortified churches. This may not be a celebrated part of France (like the Dordogne or the Riviera), but there is a great deal to fascinate and enjoy!

We know from previous visits that the Ardennes region where the hotel is located is full of interesting places, including the delightful Charleville -Mezieres and some very pleasing rolling countryside. We took advantage of the 'brocante' market on the morning of our departure and bought a couple of items.
Outstanding in every respect. A total 10. The town is lovely, the hotel is charming and the new annex is gorgeous, our small pooch was welcome and there is a nice little walking area. Both the breakfast and dinner were wonderful...absolutely the best croissant in history and dinner was delicious. The beds and shower are worth the visit alone....tremendous. We will be back in August.
The room was spacious and very well equipped.
This is a beautiful village setting, where there is safe on street parking in front of the hotel.
The restaurant…. Highly accomplished French cuisine with set meal options to include farmer’s choice meat dishes. The staff are professional and extremely friendly. Recommended to any British traveller, even if it requires a slight detour!
We have been revisiting this auberge over a twenty year period. We love the ambience and its location in a delightful small town in the Ardennes region of France. If you like a hotel with history as well as modern comforts, where you can enjoy a distinctive French cuisine in the evening, then this is the place to stay!
