A lovely apartment room conveniently located next to the harbour in St Valery en Caux with free parking opposite. Plenty of bistro restaurants in the same road serving very good home cooked food. The apartment is comfortable, with all kitchen facilities and even a washing machine. Sadly no view. Everything provided except towels, so we took our own. Very clean and excellent communication from the host who lives nearby.

Saint Valery-en -caux is a french speaking village with very few people speaking English
there are plenty eating places and bars
it is easy to get around as its a small village
we didnt drive but best if u can as there are other places round about to visit
the purpose off our visit was to go to the anniversary at the war memorial which was good so a long weekend was enough for us

A nice coastal town.I would have liked to see the fish market in action as it appeared to be quite bustling, but I had to leave to get to the ferry.I suspect it gets a bit quiet in the winter.A decent selection of shops, restaurants and bars to explore and the town is pretty well provided with scenic historic buildings, some of which seem to pre-date the invention of the spirit level.I have a feeling I will be back at some point to discover more.

A quiet town on the north coast of Normandy worth a visit if you are arriving/leaving France by the Dieppe ferry. We had a lovely meal in a harbourside restaurant. Not a huge amount to see here, but we would have liked to have visited the beach properly (high tides) during our visit.

A local attraction for people in the area, the city features a leisure harbor, a few restaurants, and a casino. A typical Normand setting, Saint-Valery is stuck in a seaside canyon, between big clay cliffs with WWII installations, and the usual pebble beach.
The place was heavily bombed during war, and the reconstruction in the fifities is, a usual in the region, uninteresting.
All in all, it is not really worth a stay, but it was a nice sleepover on my way home : the hotel was great and I ate quite well. On the week-end, book your restaurant in advance, as Saint Valery is packed with locals.

Ideal if you are arriving/leaving from Dieppe.
Ideal if you are arriving/leaving from Dieppe. Plenty of restaurants. Quiet. We had an excellent, very reasonably priced menu at Eden, on the main square. We've stayed in two different hotels, both very good, and value for money.

Bus service only 4 times a day and weekends are dire.
Bus service only 4 times a day and weekends are dire. The Sunday bus does not tie in with ferry leaving Dieppe, had to take a taxi.
A lovely port, very easy to get around lots of local life and market day. Food excellent in the restaurants.
Walks from St Valery are good, get them from the Information Centre. Somewhat vague but great fun. I walked to Le Veules les Roses.
Beach great for swimming, very photogenic in rain and sunshine.
For style and ambience La Maison des Galets, the 'tapas' french style and good. Le Sparrow serves drinks by the Marina. My hotel, Hotel de la Poste, had a bar and most evenings drank there, plus a good menu. Historically the port is fascinating and has many lovely old buildings that survived the bombing plus stylish C19th houses. La Place is all rebuilt. Also do visit the memorial to the scottish, US and english who did not make it back, on top of the Cliff above Casino. Very easy to get around the town. To get elsewhere you really do need a car.
It would be great if the Tourist Information Centre could organise shuttle buses to and from local towns/ports. Plus to Ferry Ports.
Mainly easy access everywhere except up the cliffs, steep path and stairs, but you can drive up.

Hotel Les Remparts was clean and comfortable, check in was easy and the staff were helpful and friendly. We parked on the street right outside for free. The location is ideal for the beach and harbour area and very close to local shops. There was a small market very nearby on the Friday morning that we were staying. Breakfast was simple but filling. Great value and enjoyable stay.
A charming hotel, good location, beach and cliffs nearby. The must is a walk on the cliffs. Restaurant was good, also there are several options to dine in the town. The breakfast was basic (coffee, croissant, bread and butter and jam). Nearby town is also worth a visit. In all, a good stay.
Perfect location in the middle of the center. Parking at the market square in front of the hotel (except Fridays) for free.
This hotel can be considered at a hostel level. It’s very basic but okay.
