For an over night stop, or a couple of nights it is perfect, there are shops and bars, and small streets to explore. The town is clean and very friendly. There is an emphasis to assist English speaking visitors, more so than some of the smaller villages in France, this did not distract from its uniqueness and was helpful as an overnight stop.

Be careful about where you eat, the nearby restaurants are poor by French standards. Do your research first and book somewhere away from the main square.
As a dog owner I haven’t seen so much dog faeces left on the pavements etc in any other French town in a long time.

Saint-Quentin was a stopover on our way to Autun, then St Etienne and beyond by car. Therefore, we were more than happy to get a chance to visit the impressive Basilica, and have a very pleasant early evening drink on the terrace in a nearby popular bar. Our hotel was no more than 5 minutes walk from the centre, and getting to and from the motorway was very easy and quick.

I really enjoyed speaking with senior citizens, and heard about how lovely it was to live in such a place in St. Quentin. I have never before encountered a place of sheltered accommodation with a hotel, and i thought it was interesting for travellers and residents alike. We didn’t look at the town, as we were passing through. I intend to return.

We stopped en route from French Alps to Calais.
We stopped en route from French Alps to Calais. Saint-Quentin had an attractive town centre with impressive buildings, interesting mix of architecture, good cafes and a good shopping centre. The Basilica was breathtaking. I would have liked to stay longer to explore the history of the town and surrounding area.

Apartment with great price-quality ration: it is very clean and has all you need. Good bed, well equipped kitchen (incl. milk, coffee cups, dishwasher tablets, waffles, chocolates, etc. etc.). Great and extensive instructions by the owner with quick responses. Great location: free parking, walking distance to city center, Parc d'Isle and very near to new restaurants and cinema. Goods for visits to Amiens, Laon and Reims. Great lightshow at the Basilique of Saint-Quentin in December!
THE B&B HOTEL SAINT-QUENTIN is very close to the motorway. The first time we were guests at this hotel it was because of that reason. The personal are so immensely nice that now we time our journey between the mountains and Le Pas-de-Calais where we live to go back and stay at the hotel where we feel like home.
a lovely well priced hotel. the staff were excellent and incredibly polite. the reception closes at 9pm, I was delayed in heavy traffic and they waited until I arrived. i travel from the north of England to the south of France every summer and I will definitely book this hotel next year
Everything!!! The best appartement we’ve stayed in France so far. Beautifully decorated, fully equipped, on the quite street with private parking. The instructions were so detailed and precise that it was impossible to do something wrong. Highly recommended!
