This is a gorgeous house, beautifully situated on the bank of the Sarthe. The hosts were truly lovely, as was Betty the French bulldog, and we had a fabulous breakfast with plenty of interesting conversation with the lady of the house about its history. Our room was very spacious and the beds really comfortable. The October weather wasn't good, which meant that we couldn't enjoy sitting out on the big terrace, but we could see how lovely it would be in better weather. As Fresnay has no restaurants open in the evening we drove to Alençon for dinner; an easy trip of about 15 minutes, with plenty of choice of eateries. We thoroughly enjoyed our too short stay.
