My second visit in three months when returning from a motorcycle trip.
Frendly welcome and they recognised me which was nice.
Ex campanile by the look of it so you know what you are getting.
Didn't have an evening meal this time but breakfast very good with plenty of variety.

Hotel d'Angleterre is located in Chalons-en-Champagne in the Champagne region. Opposite Noter-Dame de Vaux and the town hall, it is a 5-minute walk from the Grand Jard gardens.
The hotel is what you pay for. Tiny rooms and a bit dated, but clean and cheap. OK breakfast buffet. Great town, after a short car trip, a bit far to walk. Some good restaurants in the town square. Interesting churches / cathedral, river. Def a good place for a stop over on the way down through the empty quarter.

It was the worst place we have ever stayed in.
It was the worst place we have ever stayed in. The building was so old, the rooms desperately need updating, the room itself smelt and wasn’t clean.?The awful shutter on our window didn’t even work so we had neon light shining in all night as well as street lights along with lorries opposite loading and sounding their horns all night and a constant rumbling noise. Absolutely awful place! We left at 4am just to be in our car rather than that room! Had we not arrived so late we would have gone elsewhere despite having paid a non refundable fee!
