Very friendly hosts. Rooms were in an inner yard, connected together and outside there was a pool. Great local breakfast served in the morning.
Car can be parked within the inner yard at no cost and entry is well secured with an electric gate.

Saint-Jean-d'Angely is a very small town that seems a little...
Saint-Jean-d'Angely is a very small town that seems a little tired but it makes up for that with it's history and it's friendly people. Everyone I passed in the street greeted me with a 'Bonjour'. I found it the friendliest town I have ever visited in France. When we stayed the main/busiest bar was the Rum Runner bar. Very busy every night. We ate in the meat restaurant next door - make sure you are hungry as the portions were huge. Again, very friendly and welcoming. I understand there is a market 2 days of the week, which we sadly missed. I believe that the town is 'on the up & up' as it it about to become a Spa town, but I have not had that officially confirmed. I would visit again & again as I think there is more to explore in this town. Don't go if you want a busy night life. It's a small town. Quaint. Busier that some French hamlets and lovely & quiet to walk around. Has everything in terms of bars/restaurants/boulangerie/supermarkets.

Very welcoming hosts in an extraordinary house full of books and artefacts. The bedroom and bathroom were very spacious and confortable with tea and coffee facilities. Delicious home made jams served at breakfast.
House located within walking distance from the town center with plenty of restaurants and nice shops. We would recommend to have dinner at the hotel de la Place, the food was excellent.
The room was quaint and comfortable. The breakfast was the best we can remember having in France. Although the hotel has no parking of its own, there is ample free parking 100 metres away under video surveillance. The proprietress is charming, however, she speaks little English.
A wonderful grand 18th century private hotel with delightful interior and
features and a sublime garden. A heavy of peace and tranquility.
Very close to all amenities.
Very welcoming and friendly hosts.
Excellent place to stay on a motorbike trip down to Spain. Parking right outside the hotel, and a great situation on the town square. Helpful information in the room about taking a walk around the town.
