The shower was of high quality, recently installed with extra features and the bed was comfortable. The room had an interesting collection of French antique furniture and other objects. The breakfast conservatory was bright and welcoming with an attractive view of the garden which contained a charming and friendly dog. We enjoyed the French toast and hot chocolate.

The St Girons Saturday market was the reason why we stayed overnight on our way from a holiday in Spain. The market has to be one of the best in Occitanie. We had a good meal at a Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant, La Pagode, which we can recommend and there are a number of interesting retail shops which have stayed open despite the problems of the last few years.

We were in France for a wedding in St Lizier, very happy we chose to stay in St Giron as it had a selection of restaurants in walking distance and was a good base to exlore the region. I am glad we had a hire car as was able to drive up to villages in the mountains. Saturday market was excellent. Plus we were lucky enough to stay when they were taking the wild horses throught the town to the Mountains- spectacular!

St Girons is not a pretty tourist town.....but it definitely has a charm of its own, which I liked very much. Low key, nice vibe.
Thé département bus stop and taxi stand are just 5 minutes walk away from the very centre of the town.....and it’s a very pleasant walk over the river, down small streets.
I liked the restaurant Saint Gi.....and if you crave chips go to l’Union! They also do ice-creams!
