What a find, the hosts are a lovely couple. The rooms were very comfortable. The pool was lovely and a welcome extra. The hospitality during the evening meal was excellent and the food and wine was very good indeed. Breakfast was very generous with homemade jams, croissant and baguettes. Very good value as well.

La Doucelle is a lovely place to stay. The hosts are very nice and welcoming and accommodated us for dinner despite the fact that we hadn’t let them know in advance (which they ask you to do). The food was great, the beds comfy, we will definitely come again!

I recommend the evening meals (a) because it was good (b) because Carole and Jean-Michael are good company and (c) because we didn't see a village or town with a restaurant within 10 miles.

Nearby, Bagnoles is excellent to visit with stuff to do and restaurants. Area generally is a pleasant part of Normandy that we had not previously discovered. A useful stopover for a few days en route from further South towards the ferry.
