Utterly marvellous!
We chose this as it looked deliciously quirky and it was.
Met by the owner and provided with a beer & coffee, we were made instantly welcome and the facilities explained and shown to us.
The toilets and the inside dining area are separate from the accommodation but there is a patio outside the "room" with table and chairs enabling outside dining and relaxing.
There are a number of small home made craft items available to purchase and strongly recommend that you buy at least something to help the owners.
Breakfast was marvellous and comes in a hamper and was a lovely way to start the day.
If you want somewhere nice, quiet, rural, slightly off the beaten track and different then this is the place.
Owners don't really speak English but this is a failing on our side rather than theirs for having a sadly lacking grasp of French!
Wonderfully personal and independant.
Located in Oradour-sur-Glane, 26 km from Parc des expositions and 27 km from ESTER Limoges Technopole, logement cosy au coeur d'oradour offers a garden and air conditioning.

Beautiful area , the museum/ memorial is a must, make sure you look at everything and not just skip some of it. A very harrowing episode in the history of this place which must never be forgotten.

You can view the village free of charge - entrance through the memorial centre - it takes about 1 1/2 to 2 hours to go around it.
It’s worthwhile to do the tour of the memorial centre (€9) first as it gives you a great sense of what happened on that awful day June 10th 1944.This can take up to 2 hours if you read everything - it might be slow and a bit long for youngish children.
There is no coffee shop but in the new Oradour village you could get something.
There is a shop with various books recalling what occurred that day in French, English,Spanish and German.
It would be an advantage to buy the leaflet with the plan of the village before you walk around it though there are plaques on the houses stating who lived in the houses and what their occupation was also the main areas of the atrocities are marked by specific plaques.
Oradour sur Glane is well worth the visit and thought provoking- ‘man’s inhumanity to man’ continues to this day.
The plaque at the entrance to the village reads ‘REMEMBER’ - that’s the least we can do.
Out of reverence for the lives lost photography is prohibited.

The hotel was fine for a one night stay.
The hotel was fine for a one night stay.
Apart from the historical village there is nothing in Oradour, only one restaurant was open (last week in August). Would suggest visiting historical village and plan to stay elsewhere..
