We had delicious meals each night at the hotel. The food was superb and there was a variety of options from meat, fish and vegetarian. We ate on the 'vernadah' in the sunny room with plenty of windows. The staff were friendly and efficient.
I sat outside behind the hotel, enjoying the sunshine in the early evening.
The Logis L’Ecu de France is situated in the heart of Mauriac, a village in the north-west of the Cantal area. The rooms are functional and comfortable, all equipped with private bathroom.

Location and private garage. The evening receptionist was a very helpful gentleman.
We visited the hotel twice on our trip to and from the Basque Country. The breakfast was superb! The view and location are great. The nearby “Gorges de la Dordogne” are wonderful for cycling. In the evening one has the option of having a great meal at the hotel. For travelers with an electric vehicle: there are two charging stations nearby.
Great place to take a rest when you transversing central France.
Lake is nice and you can swim very well there.
Hotel is from the 70s, rooms are nicely renovated. Good 3 Start level. Food was ok.
