Montceau Les Mines is a lovely tranquil town.
Montceau Les Mines is a lovely tranquil town. There are peacful walks along the canal with old photographs mounted in intervals at the canalside of how it looked and was used many years ago, which is very interesting. There are a number of super eateries of varying levels from fast food to high end Haute Cuisine, so something for everyone.

The hotel was reasonable priced. Parking was available. We didn't have breakfast so cannot comment on that. We had dinner on the evening of our stay. Quality and quantity of the food was fine but not exceptional.
Nothing in particular. Maybe that we we could place the bikes in a small conference room for the night. First breakfast in a hotel with real cheese, and cake and more than one cerial.
