LE PETIT MOULIN, hotel in Martel

Located in Martel and with Merveilles Cave reachable within 20 km, LE PETIT MOULIN provides a terrace, soundproof rooms, free WiFi and a bar.

The property was very good. It was a shame we were not told that our check in would be 30 mins later owing to the fact that they were hosting a wedding! It was hard to access the property because of the number of celebrating guests.

Queen's Escape, hotel in Martel

Set in Martel, in a historic building, 15 km from Merveilles Cave, Queen's Escape is a bed and breakfast with a garden and terrace.

The breakfast was wonderful, fresh croissants and Karen's home-made banana bread. Karen was a wonderful hostess, telling us the history of the chateau, offering sight recommendations, and even giving us a parking pass for Rocamadour left by a previous guest. She contacted us to let us know we had left something behind, and asked us what we'd like her to do about it. We were thrilled by staying in the chateau and with the chance to walk to the neighboring hamlet (Gluge). I give highest recommendations to Karen and Queen's Escape! Thanks, Karen, for the wonderful stay!

La Terrasse - Teritoria, hotel in Martel

La Terrasse is a converted chateau in the heart of the Dordogne region. It offers a warm welcome and luxurious, elegant accommodation with charming, original features for an unforgettable stay.

The food in the restaurant was excellent but the menu limited if you were staying for a few nights. The air conditioning did not work in our room as apparently the filter required cleaning. The hotel is situated on the main through road therefore noisy when the window was open.

Logis Hotel Grangier, hotel in Martel

Hotel Grangier is in a small village in the Lot region. Each Grangier room is equipped with a flat-screen TV and telephone. Grangier’s restaurant serves regional cuisine.

The woman running the hotel is a gem - friendly, helpful and good humour. I booked very last minute but it was no problem. My room was very clean and had a beautiful view of the cliffs. There was even a mini fridge. Bed was comfortable and breakfast was varied and good. I like that there was a pool and the location was excellent.

Martel was the perfect spot to visit the Dordogne Valley.

Martel was the perfect spot to visit the Dordogne Valley. It combines beauty with services such as supermarket, local markets, the best bakery in the lot!, night entertainment… it small, picturesque, charming but still practical and vibrant on some evenings or market days.

A great village to discover and it always seemed active with shoppers and diners. We only stayed two nights but it would make a perfect location for a week or more to explore the area. Parking was easy, the main square was lively and there were several good restaurants. There is a lot to see and do in the area.

Excellent host at Le Petit Moulin (the plave to stay).

Excellent host at Le Petit Moulin (the plave to stay). Even at fall with foggy and rainy weather the village makes a very strong impression as you walk through its cobbled streets with amazing houses on each side. Dawn and dusk walks are highly recommended. Even better after winter, spring...

Breakfast was excellent. Home made bread and jam was delicious! Evening meal was excellent too. Could not fault it and would definitely return. Bed was super comfy and the bathroom nice and spacious. The hotel is ideally situated if you don't want to be far away from Martel but would prefer total peace and quiet and be surrounded by nature. Just wonderful. Perfect location for a wedding reception.... Cannot understand why it is only a 2 star hotel.....

Large, comfortable and well appointed room with balcony. Very nicely decorated and furnished. Large and very comfortable bed. I didn't try the restaurant because I didn't think to book in advance on the first night and was at a wedding meal on the second. Tip: book dinner in advance! Martel is an attractive medieval town with interesting architecture. Easy access from A20 motorway, 25 minutes from Rocamadour. Very pretty part of France.

The Chateau was beautiful. Rooms elegant and spacious. Lovely restaurant a walking distance booked for us by our hosts. Visit Martel a beautiful Medieval town a few miles from the Chateau. This Chateau encompasses so many things I love about France the centuries roll back but there a good bathrooms and the internet speed is 600.

The room was a good size and had all we needed. Contact points including the bathroom. Also mirrors. The best was having really good lighting in the bedroom which seems to be unusual for a lot of hotels. Bathroom good, towels and bedding changed twice during our 8 day stay. Staff were friendly and nice.

We loved the vibe of the house and all the facilities to accommodate the large group of people we were. It was also located in the centre of Martel next to the market, restaurants and other live entertainment.
