The hotel has been extensively and tastefully renovated since our last visit in 2016. The bedroom was very comfortable and spacious with a great bathroom. The public rooms were beautifully furnished with elegant armchairs and accessories.Breakfast was excellent although an 8am opening time may be a little late for those who want an early start up the mountain. Overall, this is a superb hotel which will be even better when the planned fine-dining restaurant is completed next year.

Once you get into the apartment, all is great. It is a little difficult to find initially but the instructions given are really accurate so follow them patiently! It's a spacious place so if, like us, you need somewhere to put bikes there is plenty of room. The hosts were quick to reply when I let them know a couple of things needed their attention; nothing that detracted from us enjoying our stay. It's in a lovely quiet location in the heart of the town which makes it great for access to Mont Ventoux as well as the restaurants and shops. Free parking is one minute's walk away, and we were able to pull up outside to load and unload without getting in anyone's way. The only 'good to know' I can think of is that thapartment is accessed by a narrow twisty staircase (it is an old property!) so bikes need to be carried up and down; easy for our road bikes, but maybe more challenging with an e-bike or larger cycle.
Boasting a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, garden and views of mountain, Appart'hôtel 27 le lion d'or is set in Malaucène, 43 km from Papal Palace.

We had the two bedroom apartment on first floor. It was peaceful, spacious and had a balcony with seating overlooking the lovely garden and plunge pool. Liked the layout and character of the apartment. There was a lot of kitchen equipment - more than I have ever seen in a holiday home. The memory foam bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and there was plenty of storage for clothes in the wardrobe area and spare room. The shower cubicle was spacious and worked well. We had bikes and stored them on ground floor in the excellent storage area. Overall the apartment had everything we needed and we really enjoyed our week there. Perfect central location with a lovely restaurant Chez Laurette next door, all other restaurants a 2 minute walk and a bakery a few steps away. Parking was on the street but was fine and we only used car once during the whole week.

Good location and size. Also nice there was a washing machine.
We love visiting Malaucene. The cycling in the area is fantastic and it's easy to drive to other places such as Arles, Avignon, Orange. We ate at a variety of restaurants, all pretty good - The Blueberry, Chez Max and The Terrace are our favourites.

Probably the best little town in the area.
Probably the best little town in the area.
Lively, with lots of shops, market and plenty of restaurant choice.
Perfect location for cycling the wine valleys and Mont Ventoux, and around 6 cycle shops to get kit and bike service etc.
Cost wise its very reasonable (not held hostage for price like other resorts)

This Appartment is in an excellent location: close the village center, but in the quiet small street. Parking in front of the house on the street! Fully equipped, nothing is missing. A special cellar room to lock the bikes. Ideal as a Mount Ventoux biking base. Huge dinning room, complete kitchen! Comforable ideal for 4, max 6 person. Perfect communication with the owner. I do really recommend. Jan

Arriving on a near zero-degree night, we were me by the hostess. The room was wonderful, clean and great value for money. A small town with dining options of Hungarian food, try the garlic soup around the corner. to the left. Had we not booked else where we would have stayed longer. Traveller, make sure you know what you are getting....Booking at times don't know what they are promoting. Still waiting for a refund from Booking two months on from France. So sad.
This hotel was perfect in a town where parking is difficult we were able to just leave the car at the hotel free parking and walk into town just 200 mts.
We loved the decor and layout of the whole place it really was superb and very very tasteful.
As a plus they own the spa some 600 mts away we only lunched there as had a tight schedule, but it was excellent and reasonably priced.
A small, but full 4 story house. Excellent location in the main street of Malaucène, at walking distance of a supermarket, cafes, restaurants, bike shops. And only 100 meters from the start of the climb to the Mont Ventoux.
Great apartment with easy acces, close to the center of Malaucene and the many roads around Mont Ventoux. We loved the facilities of this appartment, especially the terrace and pool. The apartment was great!
The ladies who run the hotel were super friendly and looked after us well. Food was good as well. Had fun learning some new French words with the lady who served us breakfast.
