Le Touquet combines the glamour of Paris with the tranquillity of the Opal Coast. Created by the founder of ‘Le Figaro’ newspaper, this exclusive holiday resort soon became a popular retreat for rich residents of the French capital, hence the suffix: Paris-Plage.
The town’s wide sands begin at the mouth of the Canche River and are lined with a promenade and colourful beach huts. Further south the promenade fades into sand dunes, overlooked by a golf course.
Other pursuits include a racecourse and a ritzy casino which was supposedly the inspiration for the one frequented by James Bond in ‘Casino Royale’. Ian Fleming did stay here, as did other famous authors including HG Wells and Sir Noël Coward, and other famous faces have graced the halls of Westminster Hôtel, a luxury Art Deco property available on Booking.com.
Le Touquet-Paris-Plage also has B&Bs and apartments dotted around its small town centre. Some are on the Rue St Jean shopping street and the perpendicular Rue de Metz, which has a semi-circular market square.
One of the town’s larger events is the Enduropale motorbike and quad bike race across the sands, and many competitors arrive via Le Touquet Airport. More family-friendly entertainment is the Aqualud waterpark, complete with slides and swimming pools.

A really lovely town & the perfect place for an overnight stay en route to the ferries or Eurotunnel. Interesting shops & lots of bars & restaurants. In summer the beach would be a great place to unwind.

Le Touquet is a really lovely little town.
Le Touquet is a really lovely little town. We visited out of the main season, in mid September, and there was a lively atmosphere without being crowded.
There are plenty of restaurants and we found the architecture interesting and varied.

I have visited le touquet for many years.
I have visited le touquet for many years. At one time I had a second home there. Easy to get there straight off Le Shuttle and onto the motorway. The food was very good at the hotel. I ate at Flávio’s which is a most enjoyable experience.

A superb small hotel, nice clean, spacious and comfortable room and decent bathroom. Close to the centre and beach - just a few minutes walk. The breakfast looked nice although I didn't have time to try it. The receptionist was also friendly and helpful. The Le Touquet beach is beautiful and spotlessly clean, likewise the whole of Le Touquet in general.
Hotel Bristol is on a quiet street about 100 yards from the glorious beach at one end and the fabulous market square at the other. Perfectly placed. On site parking (extra) in the town centre was really useful. Relaxing bar. Every member of staff from reception to housekeeping were excellent. Lot's of restaurants nearby. Had a great time.
All the staff at the hotel were extremely welcoming , friendly and helpful. Breakfast was busy, but the staff remained calm and unflustered. The hotel was a short walk to the centre of Le Touquet, so location was excellent. The pool was clean, and there was a very pleasant and relaxing bar area. Plenty of parking was a bonus.
Lovely location, short walk away from the bustle of town, clean and comfy room with nice decor and a stunning sea view. Nice salt water pool with gym facilities and great spa services. Lovely smell throughout hotel and great food.
Couldn’t fault the place, we cannot wait to return.
Great hotel! Would stay again - has it's own rooftop bar in the summer with DJ in early evening + bar in the hotel. Great location in Le Touquet - less than 10 min walk to beach, town centre and all amenities.
