The hotel was easy to find and the staff very friendly. In three months of travelling this was my best Value for Money accommodation and Laon was a brilliant and unexpected discovery. I would recommend a visit to the WW1 German War Cemetery - in the context of what happened in the 1930's it is very thought provoking to see young Christian and Jewish soldiers buried side by side and who obviously died as comrades in 1918.

The location overlooking the cathedral, secure parking available for a small extra charge, having a restaurant next to the rooms, attractive exterior, roomy and quiet bedroom with a comfortable bed. The restaurant came into its own in the evening, convivial and warm atmosphere and a delicious dinner. Plenty of exterior seating to the front of the hotel. Delightful welcoming manageress and one of her staff who showed us how to access the parking.

Pretty historic town with lovely buildings, beautiful cathedral and lots to explore. Range of cafes and restaurants but seem to close early. Car parking in the centre is limited to one and a half hours and you need to purchase a blue disk from the tabac or tourist office next to the cathedral parking outside the town walls is free and, consequently, tricky to find a space. Fromagerie des Remparts has gorgeous meats, cheeses and wine with outside seating.

The umbrella street was great.
The umbrella street was great. The Cathedral and adjacent square was lively and cheerful. Most of the upper town, which can be seen via walking route, is really lovely.
Excellent tourist parking, on the outer road, with a view point, before walking up a short flight of historic stairs. (Photos of staircase attached).
Laon reminded us of Shrewsbury, UK.

The walled citadel is lovely, there are numerous restaurants, shops and bars. We didn't have enough time to visit too many as we were only staying for one night. There is much more to see than the central church and square where we spent most of our evening.

Beautiful medieval city on a hill rising out of the plains of Picardie, ancient capital of the Carolingians. Astonishing cathedral, views from the ramparts, town busy with restaurants and bars, cobbled streets, antique shops.

Cathedral is a beacon in the landscape visible for miles. Ancient walls and gateways enclose many picturesque buildings and intriguing streets and alleys. Some great restaurants serving Picardy cuisine. Amazing views from the walls of the old town.

Great old center with lots of interesting sights, a decent number of shops and a couple of good restaurants. We went on a tour of the "Souterrains de Laon : Secrets sous la ville" which was great, with explanation by the tour guide in English + an audio guide in French, English and Dutch (all with "Adult" or "Child" option). Tickets and audio guides are available at the Tourist Office, at the Cathedral square.
The room was very spacious, full of character and spotlessly clean.
Our host had proactively prepared a map with suggested dinner locations.
In the morning I had the best cup of tea during my stay in France because the kettle was properly boiled.
A really interesting hotel, great location, good value, highly recommended.
This apartment was spotless and well-maintained. The central location made it easy to explore all the local attractions, shops, and restaurants on foot. Plus, the free parking nearby was a great convenience. The host was very accommodating and responsive. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Laon.
The Logis du Parvis is situated in the medieval city of Laon directly infront of the majestic cathedral. There are few hotel/bars/restaurants in Europe that can match such a stunning location in which to eat-drink. The cathedral is astounding & your eyes are always returning to it.
Nice sized room, patio door to grassed area, great restaurant attached to the hotel, nice lobby area and bar. Friendly staff (mostly). Laon itself is worth exploring - fascinating Cathedral and old town.
The location is prime. On the main tourist street with plenty of restaurants nearby. Easy check-in with code locks was very convenient given the hotel is not manned most of the time.
