Location for restaurants and shops is very good. The port area of La Flotte is very interesting and beautiful. The easy access to the bus services is good. Easy access for cycling. The pool and pool area are very good. The security gates and parking are excellent. We walked into La Flotte most days and enjoyed the atmosphere. We had a superb seafood meal at the La Cabine Oceane on the coast north of La Flotte. We used the free bus service to visit St Martin de Re and other villages on the island. We would consider returning to La Jolie Brise and enjoying Il de Re again.

La Flotte is a tranquil quaint authentic village/small town.
La Flotte is a tranquil quaint authentic village/small town. It is home to a range of artisan boutiques and shops, art galleries, wine houses and a market (open daily from 10.00am to 2.00pm), full of fresh produce (meat, eggs, breads, preserves, spices, fruit, vegetables) and much more. The cobbled streets invite the visitor to explore, they are full of charm and the street names give a clue to the history of the town. If anyone gets the story behind the restaurant called the Pirates Fiancee, I will be dying to hear. The walk along the sea front is magnificent and it goes almost all the way to Saint Martin De Ré, takes about 35 minutes, and well worth the visit. There are really good restaurants along this route, off the beaten track, just follow your nose. Cycling is a must around this area. There is an abundance of Velos (bicycles) for hire, make sure you get either a classique or a premium, and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding area. Take a picnic from the market for a great day out!

This is a tiny village that punches well above its weight (in season) in terms of restaurants, shops, markets and more. Then there's the view over the Atlantic ocean to the west where the sun sets. We ate like royalty for the two days we were there, and loved the high quality food and casual atmosphere of the St Georges in the harbour.
Great location in the centre of La Flotte. Comfy beds. Very clean. The staff were friendly and one of them spoke good English. This was our second stay here, and we will book again. Perfect location for exploring La Flotte with its lovely shops, restaurants, and pretty streets. Within walking distance of a sandy beach, suitable for swimming when the tide is in.
Location is perfect in La Flotte with an easy walk to the harbour. Pool is wonderful and makes for a relaxing holiday. Kitchen facilities were excellent and enjoyed nights in after visiting the market and buying local produce. Cycling around the island’s tracks and visiting the local oyster shacks a must!
