La Bourboule was nice in the evening with the restaurant...
La Bourboule was nice in the evening with the restaurant lights on and the snow on the ground. Galapagos restaurant was nice and the food was good. The local bakers had nice cakes and coffee. A pleasant walk in the day and there is a shop that sells very nice chips (fries but bigger and better) and various other things like ribs, nuggets etc.

A lovely easy town, ideal for families.
A lovely easy town, ideal for families. Some of the big old hotels from previous generations are closed forever, some in ruins, and yes Mont-Dore is also good with more restaurant choices but MD is a bit crammed, lots busier.La Bourboule has more space and has easy free parking everywhere. Loved it.... and the tourist info people are excellent
Cafe Francais is one of a row of bars/ restaurants and is spot on. Good staff, great value
We stayed at Hotel Regina and loved that including its excellent value restaurant
Lots of good walking around and to suit various levels.

A nice place to visit the greater area and hike.
A nice place to visit the greater area and hike. The city itself is cute and small, but most of the best rated restaurants we tried were equally slow, mediocre and overpriced.
Everyone is polite, but almost everywhere you go you get a feeling that people are doing you a favor by letting you be there. It was a very disconcerting atmosphere, and the first time I ever experienced this in my travels.

Easy to park in front of hotel. Lift available. Good location. Good self serve breakfast; croissants, bread/toast, yogurt, eggs for boiling, coffee machine, orange juice, fruit and cheese/ham (for the Dutch/German clientelle), apple puree and spreads for toast. Comfortable double bed. Clean. Very quiet. Pleasant and helpful staff.
Tired and dated, very poor condition of rooms overall, cramped toilets, ancient broken shower cubicles. Over charged by hotel despite producing booking.coms screen shot of my booking! Hotel blames Booking .com. Booking . Com just bury their heads and do nothing, won’t use either again!
Close to the main centre where the restaurants and bars are. Private parking at the back of the hotel. Had an excellent meal in the restaurant one evening as the weather was horrendous. Lovely reception area.
Bed+Breakfast nearby the center, rooms large enough with small balcony, typical equipped " a little bit old-scooled", but that fits to the hotel-style.
Very kind hosts. Parking possible direct at the hotel.
friendly staff throughout the hotel. nice clean room albeit a little dated.
nice setting with rooms on the front of the hotel overlooking the Dordogne river.
Lift available to all floors.
