From check in, even though we arrived a few hours early this was no problem. We were also upgraded to the view of the lake.at no extra cost. The in house restaurant was excellent, infact a wonderful couple of days spent. Would definitely stay again.
Absolutely fell in love with the place!
Beautiful, historic, friendly, easy going, with local shops, an amazing church, a chateau, with lovely gardens, a canal that’s popular with cyclists and walkers and the most amazing bakery, selling bread and cakes the likes of which I have never seen!

A small walkable town with all the amenities one needs in an old historic locale. Lovely walks in older parts of town with lots to discover and explore; interesting Chateau/Castle; wonderful walks along canal; at least one delightful park with nice walking trails; info signs tucked everywhere providing an ongoing insight into history and events in the area; nice restaurants; artistic installation at many surprising places providing a rest for the eyes; on edge of town are modern conveniences; good highway to get to/from;

Delightful historic town with a chateau and many 16th century houses which have been well maintained. There are information plaques on many of them and it is easy to walk round the town which has a river/canal as well as parks. There is a good choice of places to eat from restaurants to cafes, bars and creperies. Interesting shops offer opportunities for browsing with jewellery, books (French & English), gifts, clothes and shoes!

The river is beautiful and the castle/chateau is an imposing backdrop. The old town behind the castle had lots of interesting old buildings, shops and museums. We didn't have time too see it all but it was a delightful place to visit and to walk along the river.

A marvellous view of the castle opened up as we drove round the town. We visited the castle and it was a fine spot.
The town itself is full of character with charming half timbered properties in profusion. The church is also worth a visit. The road around the town is one way so as you go up from the river around the castle and up the Main Street you have to give way to pedestrians which means a slow careful drive taking in all the sights, great.
Slight down side there were not many places to eat at night we ate in the Taverna Bistro it was fine and well priced.

Exceptionally friendly and helpful owners, they could not have been more welcoming. Christine was very careful to check on our dietary requirements (gluten free) and so accomodating. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The room was spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed and fabulous view of the canal and the chateau. I would recommend Aux Lits du Canal to everyone. Josselin is a very beautiful town and well worth a visit.
The location was ideal within the town of Josselin but very peaceful. Breakfast was delicious with freshly prepared fruit salad, crisp, crusty baguette as well as croissants and pains au chocolat. Home made jams, local apple juice and a choice of teas or coffee in addition to a selection of charcuterie and cheese made for a morning feast!
Just beautiful. A stunning place to stay, clean, comfortable, beautiful gardens and lovely hosts. It is close to Josselin by car.
