A nice modern and clean hotel which is ideally situated for the Channel Tunnel and shopping.
The reception is bright cheerful and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful.

The location of this hotel is very convenient to those who are travelling to or from Britain by car, yet is set in a quiet and attractive rural environment within easy reach of major facilities. The rooms are large, well appointed and comfortable. Car parking is spacious. The Reception staff are friendly and very helpful - especially Samir ( apologies, if we have mis spelled his name ).
This hotel is located in Calais, a 5-minute walk from the sea and 500 metres from Gare de Calais-Ville Train station. Hotel Meurice offers unique old-fashioned furniture and decor.

Guines is near Calais but out in delightful countryside. This Logis has far more faclities in summer - swimming pool, gardens, and much much more. We have never stayed there in summer but you can get all the details on their website. We stay there as it is very handy for Eurotunnel whilst out of Calais. There are several restaurants in Guines. We were very pleased to find this Logis!

Guines was a sad little place that had obviously seen better...
Guines was a sad little place that had obviously seen better days. The marketplace was being renovated but the only place we saw to get a drink was a run down bar with a poor old lady still working behind it.
The highlight of the "town" was the fabulous bakery which seemed to be open all hours and had the most amazing choice of bread and lovely things! It definitely wasn't worth the visit unfortunately

Beautiful charming house.
Beautiful charming house. Host was most welcoming even offering to prebook a local restaurant for our late arrival. Breakfast was outstanding with homemade jams, honey and yoghurts.
Well worth a return visit.

Guines was a large village that appeared to have most facilities travellers would need. It is within easy reach of Calais and the coast and although surrounded by agricultural land was pleasant. It is obviously a working village rather than a tourist trap, which we preferred. they are some nice walks available from the tourist office. Please be aware that it still tends to follow the custom of shops etc, being closed on a Monday
Peaceful & tranquil on a farm location. Enjoy the goats, chickens, hens & cows outside your window. 15mins from Le Shuttle but could ba a million miles away. Ideal for an escape from the hustle of city life. Visit the town of Guines 2mins up the road to see the locals living life in France.
Very good stop off when travelling Calais Folkestone with good parking and good restaurant next door. Also use of campsite pool next to hotel. Have been coming here regularly for 30 years which says it all
