Location was great just across a small beach and a long promenade by the water. Staff welcoming and helpful. We were there during the winter so very quiet town with not much to do or restaurants opened if you arrive in the evening and need dinner.

The location of Le Defi is on the outskirts of Fouras, but only a 5 minute drive to the beaches and sights and a 15 minute walk to L'Esperance beach and 2-3 minutes to the excellent local Super U supermarket. The apartment is on the second floor and was light, airy and very spacious with a huge bathroom and power shower. Anna our host met us on arrival and was super helpful with directions and restaurant options. She could not have been more helpful.

It is a lovely little town with places to explore. It is also convenient for exploring the surrounding area, we visited Ile D'Oleron, Ile De Re and would have done more had the weather been a bit kinder.

My friend visited because she missed the beach and we both live in the countryside. It’s a quaint place with a small street of bars, cafe restaurants all very small around the fish market. Market to table amazing and popular. A fort dominâtes thé area which overlooks beaches either side. A family resort with beach bars a sea pool and kids activities. Reasonable prices and a nice very French secret.

Lovely little town. Fabulous Boulangerie Lou Lou. Most restaurants were closed at the time we visited (june). Zero gluten free options for eating out. Ile d'Aix is lovely. I don't think i'd return to Fouras - probably go to La Rochelle or Ile D'Oleron or Ile de Ré
