Jack and his wife were absolutely marvelous and the location was perfect (just overlooking the river)! Would definitely recommend to stay at Jack's if you are travelling through Confolens.

Super Host multilingual Joao, greeted us warmly and provided great restaurant recommendation.
Room was adorable, lots of white cotton in that very French manner. Quiet and restful house.
Very nice private bathroom, good shower and lighting
Excellent continental breakfast put together by Joao in the very cozy dining room
Beautiful walking town in historic countryside, church bells, river nearby

Confolens is a pretty but small town. It is not great for restaurant choice out of season but we would stay in the area again as we found a nice place to eat and it was easy to walk into town from where we stayed. In summer it would be a good base to explore the area.

We only stayed two nights, passing through.
We only stayed two nights, passing through. Small town with few bars, cafes and restaurants, but quite sleepy with a lot of properties, sadly, boarded up. Still had charm about it. There is a castle / château at Confolens St Germain a short drive away, or a 1-hr walk each way. Great for a short stay.

I really don’t want to review this gem of a place for purely selfish reasons. Great hosts and a lovely building very convenient for the village. We stayed as part of a tour on motorcycles with a group of friends, there’s even a garage for the bikes. Had we known in advance we we would have stayed for a few days, however we will be back at some point. Try the honey while you’re there as well, it’s lovely.
Highly recommended.
The location is wonderful, right on the river in the centre of Confolens. Our room overlooked the river through the magnolia tree. The room was huge with a good sized en suite with shower, and very very well furnished and equipped. The host, Davina, is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and absolutely delicious and bountiful. Wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend.
The accomodation above Arthe tearooms was lovely, a super view of the bridge and right in the centre of town . We loved kitchen area, wonderful cakes and super breakfast. Nick & Mary were lovely relaxed hosts and chatted with us over breakfast. Parking was easy, in the street by the hotel. The town was pretty and we enjoyed a meal at the hotel on the other side of the river.
Picked this b&b as a first night stop-over on our way to the South so we could visit Confolens. It was so peaceful and relaxed that we will make it a regular stop on our way to and from our house. The hosts are so welcoming and helpful, our only disappointment was we didn’t have time to see the bees - next time!
Great location in the equestrian centre, so my daughter's loved seeing the horses in the morning. The town of confolens is beautiful with plenty of places to eat and drink.
The hosts were very friendly and flexible.
